Acceptance is Growth

Posted - Feb• 16•15

When we can accept, we have arrived.  It is important to understand the difference between “tolerance” and “acceptance.”  When we “accept” everyone and everything for what it is, without the need to change anyone or anything – we have achieved growth.

Living in a human body with a non-physical being, is a challenge.  Many physical challenges that occur in a human body, do not exist in a non-physical world, where the majority of your “inner-self” resides.   The need to accept one another and all situations for what they are is a result of living in the physical world.

Think about a time when you totally let go of outcome.  You totally let go of the need to control.  You totally let go of the need to criticize or judge another.  If you cannot recall a period of time like this, then imagine it.  Take an event in the past day or so, and play it in your mind with total acceptance.

Did you criticize or judge another?  Now play in your mind what it could be like to totally allow others to be who they are.  Sure, there are always things we can all do better, but given we are living in a physical body we are always going to make so-called “mistakes” or errors in judgment.

What would it be like to simply allow others to make those errors, without your judgment and criticisms?  Of course, if they ask you for feedback or help, that is one thing, but typically, that is not the case.  Many times we do not share our criticisms and judgments, but rather, think them in our minds.  That is the same energy as when we voice those thoughts.

What we think about, we get more of in our lives.  If we see the so-called “faults” in others and in the environment around us, that is what we will get more of in our lives.  When we think about the beauty and perfectness of everyone and everything, we will see more beauty and perfection in the world!

Today is a good day to practice acceptance.  No matter what happens today, let it all pass you by, and be an observer without judgment or criticism.  Look for the beauty and perfection in everyone and everything and watch your day blossom like the bulb of a flower!

This requires such maturity and inner confidence I don’t know if I could succeed but I will try.
