Behind the Face

Posted - Sep• 17•14

Yesterday, we talked about noticing all of the different faces that you encounter throughout your day.  Now, we might ask if you looked “behind those faces?”

When we see a face, we are looking at the physical “mask” that a person is wearing.  The “mask” may be showing a state of happiness, anger, joy, sadness, etc.  However, the face is only part of the story.  The question is, what is it that the person wearing the face is wanting to share?

When we enter into the world, we all dawn our “costumes” and walk onto the “stage.”  It is on the stage that we play various roles.  We may be playing the role of the boss when we are at work, the husband and father when we are home, the friend when we are on the golf course, or the volunteer when we are helping those in need.   However, when we play the various roles, we are sometimes, hiding our true selves.  The key is to play each “role of your life” with your truth.

When we live each role of our lives with our truth, we are being ourselves.  Sure, the “role” is being “played” by us, but we are not “pretending.”  We are being our core self, and letting that show through the mask we call our face.  When we live our truth, it shines directly through to the world around us.  It is when we are hiding deep inside of us, that the face becomes a mask to protect us.

When you look at another person, their face is putting on an expression to make you feel at ease.   They might be wearing a big smile, to help try to mask the pain they are experiencing in their life.   It is the good friend, that can look past the “mask” that is placed for the rest of the world, to talk to their friend at a deeper level.

In the non-physical world, there are no faces.  There is a connection of energy between different entities.  When you experience that connection while still residing within a body, you understand that there is much more than “meets the eye.”

The face that we wear is one that should reflect the inner beauty we are harnessing inside of us.  When we let that true self come to the surface, it opens us up to remove the barrier that once contained our selves.  Open up, and let the world see the smile that you are holding within you!
