Belief Seeds

Posted - Apr• 22•15

Living a life of “peace and calm” begins with your thoughts.  Those thoughts sprout from your beliefs.  Your beliefs can define you.

When we believe that we are always in the “right” and others who do not follow our instruction or match our behaviors are “wrong” we are planting the seeds for thoughts that support those beliefs.  The belief that we are “right” taints our perception so that we will “see” things that support that belief.  We will have a tendency to find fault in others that do things differently than ourselves.  We will let those thoughts affect our behaviors, taking us away from a state of “peace and calm.”

Think about how your beliefs create your thoughts, and how your thoughts create your behaviors.  When we believe that things should be done a certain way, because of the deep-rooted belief that “I know best” we are setting ourselves up for a life of frustration.  No one can possibly do things the way we feel they should be done, and further who are we to say that our way is the only way?  Who are we to push our beliefs on another?

Let go of the need to control your environment and the world around you.  The need to control only creates emotional angst.  Let those around you live their life, with their own belief system.  Let go of the need to encourage others to take on your beliefs, but rather accept them with their beliefs.   When we can encourage others to pursue their passions based on their own set of beliefs, we can then truly pursue our beliefs.

It does not matter what we attempt to do in life.  What matters is that we only attempt things that are rooted in integrity and genuineness, so that others can pursue their own passions!
