Confidence Replaces Fear

Posted - Mar• 31•15

The man confidently walked up the steps to reach the stage.  He walked to the podium and unfolded his notes.  He looked to the thousands of people gathering around him, placed a smile on his face and began his speech.

Why is it that some people can show an air of confidence that few seem to have?  When we demonstrate confidence, we begin to live confidently.  We are able to replace our fears with a level of “knowing.”  We can let go of the anxieties and fears that may have otherwise immobilize d us.  Having confidence, living confidently, and believing in yourself and trusting the universe is the recipe for eliminating fear.

Think about the last time you were fearful.  Maybe it’s right now.  Yes, there is worry over the unknown, and lament over the past.  Fear can sometimes be confused with worry, but is usually related to a fear of the unknown future.  “What if I lose my job?”  “What if the we can’t afford our rent?”   The fears that we place on ourselves are often times related to a lack of confidence.

“If I lose my job, I will find a better one.”   “If the rent gets too expensive, we’ll find another place or bring in more money.”  The sooner we can replace our fears with confidence, the less energy and traction those fears will garner.  When fears get energy, like anything they grow!  They get more and more powerful and consuming.  It’s much better to place your energy on the confidence in yourself, and the trust that you place on your inner-spirit to guide you to wherever it is you need to be.

Let go of the fears, by putting energy toward your own confidence.  Sometimes that energy comes in the form of more schooling, more training, or doing things that you have been afraid to do!  Today is the day to build your confidence and extinguish those fears!
