Congruent Behavior

Posted - Dec• 23•14

When you look back on this year, what could have you done better?  That is, in which situations could have you behaved in a manner more congruent with your inner self?

Often times, we look at situations and have a tendency to blame others for their behavior – which we feel is lacking.  However, what we really need to do is look at our own behavior.  For our journey, is not about molding others into the “statue” that we think they should be, but rather our journey is about molding ourselves to be congruent with our spiritual being.

During the holiday period, families often gather together to celebrate their relationships.  However, those gatherings can often bring up old, buried, resentments that have been lurking in the “basement.”  Rather than continuing to let those resentments rise, and then tucking them away neatly back in the basement, we should let those resentments rise and dissipate.

There is no reason to hold onto “wrongs” that you feel have been placed on you, especially, those that may have taken place years, if not decades ago.  It is time to “grow up” and “let go” of all of those things that you pack away each year, alongside your holiday decorations.

For many people, they go through the holiday period in a pure state of joy.  Usually, those people are children!    Go back to your childhood and begin to see the inner spirit of those around you.  When you do, you begin to have empathy and compassion rather than bitterness and anger.  There is no need for those negative emotions in your life.  For we know what negative emotions can do to your physical self.

Look around during the next family party.  See yourself and others “from above.”  Let the love you contain permeate throughout your physical self, and watch others melt when they too, make the discovery of love!
