To further your own growth, be open to anything. When you know that all things are possible, you have removed the barriers holding you back.

This lifetime is about learning the things you need to learn so that you can “move on” to the next set of lessons. We never quit learning, for when we do, the growth of our “self” slows to a stop. Every day, we are faced with opportunities for growth. It could be as simple as staying calm while another driver merges too close to you in your lane. Or, it might be as simple as waiting to think about your response while another is speaking.
The opportunities for growth generally are “small” in nature. Sure, there might be some big things going on in your life, but the small things are what you should start mastering. Look at the last few hours, and identify some events where you had an opportunity for growth. Maybe you were angry with someone, or angry about something that happened. Maybe you didn’t spend quality time with your children and your mate. Maybe you were not happy at work, and just went through the motions.
Make a conscious decision to work on these areas – today! Beginning right this moment, put away the “automatic responses” that you have developed over the years into habit. Begin anew, and make conscious responses to people and events. When you think you know someone – you begin to belittle them. Pretend you do not know, if you have to!
The biggest gift we can give another is one of being present. When we truly engage with another, with 100% of our attention, we are acknowledging they have something important to say. We are acknowledging that they are important. Let everyone you encounter feel that sense of importance, so they can lift themselves up and recognize that they truly are important!

When we make conscious responses to the events in our day, we are aligning ourselves with the truth of genuineness. Conscious responses, begins with engagement in the people around you, and the devotion of your attention to what it is they have to say!
