Difficulty is a Choice

Posted - Feb• 16•16

“Why does everything need to be so difficult?”

“They are only difficult if you let them be difficult.”

Difficulty is a state of mind.  One person’s difficulties is another person’s joys.  Life is all a mind-set.  The question is where is your mind today?

The basis of our reality, as we have talked much about in the past, comes from your model of beliefs.  That means, whatever you believe, you will find evidence to support that belief.  If you think someone does not like you – that is what you will see.  If you think someone does like you – that, too is what you will see.

The interesting thing is we all know this to be true, yet we do not consciously choose our beliefs.  Some of us have the belief that “everything is difficult,” while others, although few in numbers, believe that “everything is in order.”  What beliefs are holding you back, and which ones are empowering you?  It seems the solution is easy – to increase the empowering beliefs while letting go of the ones that hold you back.

When you feel you are having difficulty in your life, it might be a good opportunity to trace that difficulty back to your “belief model.”  It might stem from a fundamental belief about a particular person or relationship, attitude, or possibly a belief that was engrained in you as a child.  It’s okay and advisable to reassess your beliefs so that you can let go of those affecting your growth.

Life gives us all sorts of opportunities to crawl in a hole and hide – or to jump out of your seat and celebrate.  The question is which approach are you going to take today?
