Dreams Bring Passion

Posted - Feb• 19•15

“What are your dreams?”

“Dreams?”

“Yes, what is it you want from life?”

“I just want to be able to pay my bills.”

When we live without a life-long dream, it is like driving without a destination.  Everyone, needs to have something to pursue.  It could be almost anything, but has to be something that energizes, empowers, and is backed by integrity.

In the past, we have referred to “beacons” as a way of representing where we would like to be.   The beacon serves as a light in the dark of night where we can plot a course to move towards.  When you think of your own “beacons” you can use the phrase, “I am”, or “I have”, etc.  Think of the beacon as the destination where you are” at, not the place where you would “like” to be.

For example, you might be in college to study medicine.  A beacon might be, “I am a doctor,” or “I am a nurse.”  Maybe you are renting an apartment, and would like to someday buy a home.  A beacon might be, “I am a homeowner” or “I own my home.”

Many times throughout our lives we need to be reminded that we all must have some beacons planted.  Many of the beacons are always there, that we may move in and out of daily.  For example, “I am happy.”  That is something that can be out there everyday – some days we may be at the beacon, and others we may be away from it.  These are constant beacons that we keep throughout our lives.

Think about what excites you.  Think about what brings a sense of passion to your life.  Write it down in the form of a beacon where you have “arrived” at whatever it is you want to attract into your life.  Then plan the next step, pursue that step, and let go of the outcome.  Sometimes, the universe makes the path to our beacons quite curvy!

Life is about excitement and passion.  If you find that lacking in your life, begin to dream.  When we dream about where we would like to be, we bring energy and passion back to ourselves.   Use that dream to liven up today!
