Emotional Permission

Posted - Oct• 22•15

When we are in a “happy place” no one can take us away from it!   We can be happy independent of the world and environment around us.  Guess what?  You deserve to be happy!

Happiness is not something that is “bestowed” upon you.  No, happiness is something that you create!  Happiness, doesn’t just “happen” without your permission.  Yes, happiness needs your permission to surface within yourself.

Similarly, negative emotions, like anger, frustration and sadness also need your permission to surface in your body.  There are times when we do not realize we are giving permission to those negative emotions, until we do an “emotional inventory” when we realize what we are experiencing.

The key to happiness is to consciously choose your emotions.  Yes, that may seem like a daunting task, but it is most certainly doable.  When you pay attention and are present with your current emotional state, you can detect a “slippage” toward negativity.  When that is first detected, is when it is time to change your thoughts.

Let go of the need and desire to experience the negative emotions of the world and life within you.  There is no “higher good” that comes from negativity.  Rather, when you feel yourself slipping into one of those “routine emotions,”  pick yourself up with empowering thoughts!   Feed yourself the “mental spinach”  that will make you happy.   And this “spinach” tastes great!

Today is a great day to monitor your emotional state at regular intervals to alert you before a negative slippage occurs.  Lift yourself and those around you by thinking empowering thoughts.  Those are the thoughts of happiness!
