When is the last time you sat quietly enough, maybe even in your house, where you could hear the birds singing outside? Do you take walks in nature and allow the noises of the animals to enter your world? Often times, we are so caught up in our “reality” that we fail to see and hear the beauty around us.
Today, on this spring day (for at least half the planet), listen for nature. Get past the urban noises if you live and work in a city, and listen for nature. It is around us, but easily gets masked with the noises of “man.” Let your mind sink into the sounds of the birds singing at your window and appreciate those sounds.
When you think about it, we spend lots of money and time creating sounds and music that are pleasing to the ear, and then we ignore the sounds that have developed over hundreds of years. Sometimes, the sounds of the bird quickly disappear, but if you wait long enough, especially in the morning you may be able to hear the singing start-up again.
Yesterday, we talked about “letting your music play.” Today, is the day for you to “hear” and appreciate the music of others. It can be literally the music of the birds, or it may be the “music” of your coworkers, mate, children, friends, and even strangers dancing on the street while spinning a sign. Listen, and appreciate the music of at least one other person today, for that is the biggest gift that you may give another. The gift of appreciation.
Let your life be about appreciating what others in this world are doing for you! Look for the contribution that so many people are making, when it is so easy to look for the lack of contribution. Find the “music” in every person that you encounter today, and encourage them to continue their passions.
When we encourage another, we are contributing to the good of all. Just imagine what the world would be like if say just three people encouraged you and every other person on the planet to find your greatness – each and every day. The way to make that happen, is for you to begin the process – one person at a time, and one day at a time.
When you encourage another to find their greatness and to continue playing their “music,” you are saying that they are important. When a person feels “worthy” they realize they can do great things. When everyone accomplishes greatness in whatever it is they do, the world becomes great! Start the process today.

Greatness is buried deep within each of us. When we begin to expose that greatness to the world, a little encouragement from others can move mountains. Encourage others to be great while letting your own “music” play.

This truly speaks to me. A reminder of how precious the music of others is.
