Energize the Sluggish Bug

Posted - Jun• 19•14

There are days when you may not feel like getting out of bed and doing whatever it is you need to do.  Most likely, you are not wanting to go to work.  Those kinds of feelings can be “normal” although, it is not something that you want to start “giving in” to.

When you allow yourself to not implement the plan that you have in place, due to a low energy level, or tiredness that has crept into your body, you are establishing a precedent for future days.  Once you begin to let your body “take over” your “mind,” you are beginning to set a pattern that may be hard to break.

Conversely, when you do not “give in” to the temptation to stay in bed and call in “sick” or take the day off, you will feel much better about yourself when your work day is finished.  You will be happy that you persevered through the sluggishness that was holding you “down” and that you met your commitments for the day.  That will help build up your confidence and the self-esteem that may be necessary on a future “sluggish” day.

We all have those kinds of mornings, but we all do not have to give in to that “sluggishness.”  When we use our mind, to awaken and energize our body, we can overcome that bodily tiredness.  Let your mind bring the energy into your body to awaken it, and to motivate it.

You can visualize the energy entering through the top of your head, much like standing under a waterfall, and send it to all of the extremities of your body.  Give yourself an “energy shower” for several minutes before you arise from bed, or even while you are standing in the shower with water running over your body.

You will find that taking that “first step” out of bed and putting your body in motion, is the first step in “getting through” your day.  Each journey begins with the first step, and each morning begins a new journey.  Give yourself the tools to overcome the “sluggish mornings” so that you can consciously decide how you will spend those precious work days off.

When you feel sluggish, you can energize your body quickly, and get yourself moving to cut the cords holding you down.  At the end of your day, you will feel better about yourself, and be glad that you overcame the “sluggish bug.”

This morning was such a morning, and this message was right on the mark. I feel better already.
