When we begin to explore the world, we may find that things are pretty good back home.
Ω
When we leave home to travel to distant lands, we sometimes are enamored by the concept of leaving home, more so than having an appreciation for what is near us. Exploration of the world is a basic human desire for those that are inquisitive enough to see things for themselves. When we meet other people, and see other cultures it expands our thinking beyond one’s self.
The desire to leave one’s home in order to explore the world, can make one appreciate what they have, but may have taken for granted. When we experience the lives of others, it is then that we can begin to understand them. When we experience new things, it is then that we can have an appreciation for what we already possess.
The more we experience in life, the more we can open ourselves up to the concept of “going beyond” ourselves. We can build an understanding for others that we have never met – but somehow felt we “knew.” We can build an understanding for cultures that we thought we “knew.” Experiencing the world, allows for you to open up to the idea that you are not “it” but rather we are all “it.”

The more we know about the world, the more we realize what we don’t know. The world is a wonderful place, but exploring it often allows for us to enjoy our own “home” much more!
