“What are you worried about?”
“I’m not worried, I’m afraid.”
“What are you afraid of?”
“I’m afraid of what might happen. What if it doesn’t turn out okay?”

When we worry about the future, and place our emphasis on the emotion of “fear” we are not living in the moment. Sure, there are times when you cannot help but have some sort of worry or fear. However, we need to make sure those “fearful periods” get shorter in length and have more time between those periods.
It’s when we live in a constant state of fear and worry and we cannot function in the present that we are letting go of the present. There will always be things that we can worry about. There always has and always will be. However, when you look back over your life you might see that you are worrying less and less frequently than in the past. If so, that is a sign of growth. Living in the present is a sign of growth.
If there is something that is consuming your thoughts regarding the future, in the emotion of fear, look back over the past to find a similar situation. Do you feel that in the past situation, that the worry was justified? If the thing you were worrying about occurred, did the worry prior to the event help you in any way? Was the worry at all necessary?
If you remember that what you think about and more importantly, what you give emotion to, is what you attract into your life, you will see that worry actually helps in creating the thing for which you worry! That is why it is so important to catch yourself having negative emotions, and immediately replace them with a positive emotion. When you worry, find gratitude. Look around at your relationships, your possessions, your health, etc., and be grateful. Do not look for more, but rather appreciate what you have!
