“Do they know why he did it?”
“No. The last time I saw him, he seemed happy.”

There are times when we sometimes decide that we can no longer go on. For some people, they decide to return “home” leaving lots of questions and pain for those left behind.
Many times the news comes as a shock to friends and family. They wonder if there were signs that they missed. They wonder if there was something they could have done to reach out and help before it is too late. They feel helpless.
There is no easy answer to the issue of suicide. All we can say is that we should never take another person for granted. We should listen when they talk. We should connect with them whenever possible. We should support them when they are asking for help. However, even after doing all of those things, it’s sometimes not enough. At that point, we need to understand that our path in this lifetime intersected however briefly with another’s, but those paths diverged.
We cannot take responsibility for another’s decisions. We can only hope that they somehow found the peace they are looking for in their next lifetime. The world can be a difficult place to live. We need to work on ourselves first – so that we do not ever get to the point where we feel there is only one way out. This life’s journey can be difficult, but it is the journey that we have chosen to play out in this lifetime.
We need to take responsibility for our life, and for the growth within it. That begins with forgiveness – not of others, but of ourselves. We need to forgive ourselves for the things that we feel were lacking. Let yourself be forgiven, so that you might be able to forgive others. When we forgive, we can grow. Without forgiving ourselves, we can stifle our growth. Forgiveness is a necessity for pulling ourselves up into the light.
Suicide is difficult to deal with. There is no one solution, nor remedy. Every person on this journey is different, and we all are looking for different things out of life. The thing we are saying is that we all need to work on ourselves, so that we can stay in the light. Keep yourself in that light no matter how much darkness others may throw on you. Keep yourself in that light, no matter how much darkness you see in the world.

You and I, and everyone walking in the physical and non-physical planes are all connected. We can light the world together, so that maybe we can all be looking up into the light rather than down into the darkness.
