The foot prints become less visible as the people converge onto the beach. The distinctive “prints” of each person become part of the bigger “collage” created by the masses. What prints do not get merged together eventually are washed away as the waves “erase” the beach allowing for the sand to “reset” for a new creation.
As you live this lifetime you may wonder what “foot prints” you will leave in the world. Some are remembered by many, and many are remembered by few, but the memory of our life is generally not our objective. Typically, we would all like to make this a “better world” which may not have the wide-spread recognition of the few people who are not the norm. To make this a better world and to leave our “prints” in the sand we need to impact the few people who are in our lives.
Eventually, the “impact” we have may be lessened as the generations advance, eventually “washing away” our foot prints from the shores. However, that is the ego telling us that we need to be permanently ingrained on the shorelines, when in fact that is all it is, but the ego speaking to us. Our lives are not about the impact that we have in order to be remembered by many but rather the impact we have on those for which we are closest.
When we are able to understand and support those around us, during their times of need, we are serving beyond ourselves. At that point, we are putting the needs of another before our own needs. In those instances, we are pressing our foot into the sand, not because of ego, but because we are loved. When we are loved, we impress our foot into the sand, to make our mark visible to those who love us, in the presence of so many other marks.
We are letting the people know, for which we care, that we are there to help them should they find a need for our help. They are also letting us know that they are there to support us as well, should the need arise. The cycle works back and forth, without payment or concern for “equality.” It is then that the “foot prints” in the sand are in sync, and are in step with each other. The synchronization of steps, provides a means to find each other in the crowded beach.

Love is life, and providing life to others is the ultimate gift of love. When you feel lost in the collage of “foot prints” find comfort in knowing there are people by your side walking with you every step of the way.
