It’s the beginning of another week. Sometimes it feels like we get to the weekend, blink, and it’s over and we sit at the beginning of a whole other week. How does one stay motivated?
One way to keep yourself motivated is to look at, and evaluate your beacons. Use the upcoming week as incentive to plan your next steps towards those beacons. Use the fact that the weeks keep coming, and coming ever so quickly to your advantage. Look at all you can accomplish towards arriving at your beacons!
When we have goals and destinations in our lives we can use the time ahead of us to move forward. It’s when we feel like we are simply doing the same things over and over again to just stay “afloat,” that discouragement can creep into our lives. The way to keep motivated is to set your intentions and to work towards those intentions.
Think about various times in your life when you had a clear objective of the things you needed to do in order to arrive at a beacon. In those cases, we can funnel our energies towards the necessary tasks with little distractions. Sure, we may not have wanted to do those necessary tasks, but we knew what needed to be done. So, when you find yourself on a Monday morning lacking in motivation, you might look inside to see if you really have any beacons. Do you really know what it is you even need to do?
Even if you are retired and do not have the need to work, you still need to have beacons in your life. Find a passion that you previously never had the time to take on. Maybe you often thought about learning how to paint, build things or have wanted to learn a new language. Set your beacon, plan your next step, and move in that direction! However, if you have no beacons, how can you possibly know where it is you would like to go in the first place?
