Your thoughts create emotions. Your emotions generate energy – either positive or negative.

We talked yesterday about how you can empower people and give them a “lift” when you interact with them. The same is true of yourself – you can give yourself a “lift” with your thoughts.
When your mind has a thought, it can generate emotions in the body. There are many thoughts that create emotions entrenched with negative energy, and conversely many thoughts can create positive emotions. We have referred to your current emotional state as your “emotional radar.” When you take an inventory of your current emotional state, it will give you an indication as to the types of thoughts that you have rolling around your head!
Monitoring and analyzing every thought that goes on in your mind is a difficult challenge. However, monitoring your current emotional state is quite doable. Take an emotional inventory now. Do you feel tension in the back of your legs? Do you feel frustrated, bitter, or angry? If so, change your thoughts to something that leads to positive emotions and a relaxed body.
Okay, “so what are these ‘positive thoughts’ that can change my emotional state and relax my body?” you might ask. Many of the positive thoughts originate from a state of gratitude. Look at what you “have” rather than what is “missing.” Think about the fun times in your life, rather than dwelling on the not-so-fun times. Think of the future as you want it, rather than fearing what might happen in the future.
