Going ‘Ons’

Posted - Nov• 10•15

Everyone has things going on in their lives.  It is easy to think that we are the only ones with stresses, worries, and fears, but the reality is that most if not everyone has their own stresses, worries and fears in their lives.

The question is how we handle those stresses, worries, and fears.  We understand that being in a human body, these are natural human emotions.  However, it does not need to consume your life.  We recommend that you embrace those emotions – yes embrace them, and then let them flow through you and away.

When you begin to understand that you are not the only person with “things going on” in your life, you will begin to open your eyes to other people.  We can have empathy and create a softness towards others, rather than thinking we are the only one with a “tough life.”

When you stand in line to get your morning coffee, you can look at those in front of you and help make their day a little happier.  You can connect with the clerk, who might be working two jobs, and going to school at night, while supporting a family – and give him or her a smile.   The world is not about you, and when you begin to “see” other people, you will begin to understand that you do not have any “problems” in the first place!

We are not saying that you do not have any “problems,” but rather are saying that those so-called “problems” cannot exist without your permission.  Think about what would happen if you made a small shift in your thinking, so those “problems” are something else.  Maybe they are growth and learning opportunities for all involved.  Maybe there is something that is good about all of it.

Today is a great day, to look at everyone you encounter and wonder “what is going on in their life?”  As you do so, you are acknowledging that they are a fellow being living a human experience.  Give them a smile and brighten their day, and you may just find that your day becomes a little brighter as well!
