Great Leaders Want No Followers

Posted - Dec• 06•13

Yesterday a great man passed into the non-physical plane.  The work that Mandela did while on Earth during this life-time has changed the world forever.  As we discussed yesterday, he will  be missed, but those that are here must continue onward without him, using the lessons he taught the world as a spring-board into new ideas.  Have your moment of grieving as we discussed yesterday, but then decide what it is you are all here to accomplish on your own, using your own internal spirit self as the guide.

Sometimes we look to external people for motivation as was the case for many with Nelson Mandela.   Great leaders such as Mandela cannot be easily replaced, however, great leaders eventually want the people they inspire to begin looking inward for the answers.

Finding motivation through others and from writings such as this, should not be the “be all end all.”   Think of that motivation as training wheels to get you moving and learning how to “fly” but eventually, you will need to “fly” on your own.  That is one of the amazing benefits of the death of the physical body.  It forces people who may have been dependent on another to begin to live on their own.

Do not get us wrong, we are not saying that we enjoy death.  However, we understand as we mentioned yesterday that it is only the death of one’s physical body as they transform states as water transforms to ice.  We have the “bigger picture” view of death and do not treat it as tragically as most people walking the Earth.

If you can look at what a person who has passed has taught you,  then you can begin applying those lessons and begin to think for yourself.  Again, any great leader with integrity wants the people who adore her to eventually look inside for the answers.  A great leader with integrity never wishes for people to adore her.

Think of the death of an inspirational person as your “graduation” from school into the world.  How many times does the so-called “student” outshine the “teacher?”   We must realize that the teacher is also the student and the student the teacher.   A great leader, learns from everyone s/he encounters.

Now is the time to look back on all of the inspirational leaders of your generation, and inspirational teachers that have touched your life.   Do they want you to continually look to them for all of the answers on how you should live your life?   The answer is an emphatic “no.”  Just like an elementary school teacher, does not want to provide the arithmetic answers for you for the rest of your life, nor does a spiritual teacher want to provide “life issue” answers to you either.   Both of these teachers are wanting to “teach” you how to do these things for yourself.

Life is a wonderful gift that you have chosen to partake in.  It is up to you to decide if you will finally have the trust to live that life for yourself, or if you will continue to let someone who seems “better qualified” tell you what you need to be doing.

Well said and very powerful! I love the metaphor of training wheels or graduating. I have never thought of it like this. This Inspiracard is going on my mirror to read every day! Thank you so much.
