Intentional Attention

Posted - May• 24•16

Where we focus out attention is where we exert our energy.  As such, it is important to be aware of your attention.

Think about where you spend all of your thinking moments.  Before you began reading this, what were you thinking about?   Take an emotional inventory status right now.  How are you feeling?  Are your shoulders tense?  Are the back of your legs tense?  Do you feel relaxed?

If you find that you are feeling a bit apprehensive, angry, bitter, fearful, etc., you are thinking about things making you feel that way.  However, if you have this warm feeling of overwhelming happiness, you are living in this time and place – that is, this moment.

What we spend our mind’s thoughts on, is where we send our energy.  Whatever, we put our energy towards, is what we will attract into our lives.  Think what might happen if we could somehow keep our focus on the events, people, and things that we want in our lives – we would in fact attract them to us!

As you go about this day, pay attention to your emotional state.  We refer to this as your “emotional radar.”  When you sense yourself drifting off into states that you prefer not to be in, you need to immediately change your thoughts.  Do not feel that you are “deserving” of these negative states.  Do not feel the need to mull over the events that are causing you this angst.  Let all of those things simply pass through you.  Observe them, and then move on to thoughts about the things that you would like to attract into your life.

Whatever we focus our attention on, is where our energy goes.  Wherever our energy goes, the universe will send our way.  Be intentional on your focus of attention and you will find that which you seek!

When I sit and read I am relaxed 90+% of the time. When I am up and trying to walk, I am tense, very tense trying not to fall. I must count every step that I take, If I don’t, I wil fall. A guaranteed fall. This morning I had a new driver from Silver Key drive me to the Lane Center. He got out of the vehicle and went to the Lane Center door and opened the door for me. I said thank you, lost my count and fell inside the door!!! It does not take much of a distraction for me to lose count! Papa B
