The lid raises ever so slowly and the music begins to play. The vibrations reverberate against the exotic hard wood as the room becomes entrenched with the clear tones created by the mechanical masterpiece. They say that music boxes need to be played often in order to maintain their precision and sound. This one is still at its peak as it comes to a slow whisper.
What is the music that is inside of you? Do you let it play for the world to enjoy on a regular basis? Have you ever let your music play? Do you know what your “music” even is? Your “music” may take many forms. It could be a masterfully baked loaf of bread, beautiful poems, skills in the work place, or just about anything.
When you let your “music” play for yourself or for others to “hear,” you are sharing your gifts with the world. And yes, everyone has many gifts! The key is in finding yours. Sit quietly and set the intention that you would like a gift to be revealed to you. Let yourself open up to anything even if it may seem ridiculous at first.
Do not dismiss anything, and be open to everything. When you are searching for the gifts buried deep within yourself, it is important to set aside the ego, your modesty, and open up to all possibilities.
You may be sitting quietly and find yourself thinking of a painting that you may have seen sometime in your life, or maybe a painting that you have never seen. You might think, that you have never painted anything before and that it would be crazy to consider starting at your age.
However, that would not be open to the possibilities which are endless. Take a painting class and see if it resonates with you. Do you find joy in putting colors on a blank canvas? Maybe you envision a guitar player and you have never even learned how to read music. Trust it, and start the process to learn the skill to see if it brings you joy, and awakens the “music” sleeping deep inside of you.

We all have “music” that is waiting to be played. Like the music box, that sits patiently waiting for someone to open the lid to be played, your music is waiting for you to “let it go.” Wind the box and open the lid for you may surprise yourself on the “music” you have to give to the world!
