“You might want to save some room in your suitcase for souvenirs.”
“That’s a good idea. I almost filled it up so there wouldn’t be any room to bring anything back.”

When our “cup” is full there is no space for any more. In our busy lives, we have a tendency to “fill things.” We fill our schedule with activities and appointments. We fill our home with “stuff” that begins to consume us. We fill our bellies until we are uncomfortable. We fill our minds with chatter and thoughts.
Take this opportunity, to do a self-assessment as to where you are “full” in your life. When we pack things in our schedule months in advance, that comes at a cost of spontaneity. When we fill our home with the trinkets and things that we have accumulated over the years, that comes at a cost of simplicity. When we fill our minds with a barrage of thoughts, that can come at a cost of mindfulness.
Look around in your life for areas where you can do some “cleaning” and simplify your life. With accumulation comes complexity. Yes, it’s nice to have “things” but too many “things” can cause unnecessary stress and become overwhelming. Let go of the need to accumulate and begin to simplify.
Suppose a long-time friend that you haven’t seen in years calls to tell you that she is coming to town and wants to get together tomorrow. Will you be able to do it? How about the next day? Do you have such a packed calendar that you would need to schedule her weeks out? That might be an indication that you are over-planning your life.
When we over-plan and over accumulate in our lives, we are letting the things that we want in our lives, begin to dictate our lives. When we get caught up in accumulations, it is easy to forget and ignore our priorities. Look at you beacons, and decide if they are priorities in your life or are more accumulations that may add complexity to your life.

When we have a “full life” we may not have room for anything else. Open up and begin to unload the things in your life that you thought you once wanted, but are now weighing you down. When you are “light,” you experience freedom!
