“How did you become so enlightened?”
“I quit looking for enlightenment, and started living it.”
Ω
Sometimes we spend much of our lives looking for something that is always there. In the case of growth and enlightenment, it is not something to seek, but rather something to live.
When we live like an enlightened Being, we are letting go of the ego and living the current moment to the fullest. That means we engage in listening while others are talking. We engage fully in our work when we are working. We engage fully in driving while we are driving. We engage in our lives – fully.
To live like an enlightened Being, we think without ego. We allow and accept others for who they are without judgment of any kind. We accept our aging bodies and minds. We love without attachments. We live without being attached to outcome.
When we begin to live the life of an enlightened Being, we realize that we were always “enlightened” we just didn’t live it. There is not special recipe or secret. There is only the commitment to giving up the ego and the traits and behaviors that go with it.
Today is a great day to “pretend” you are an enlightened being. Live how you can imagine the greatest Zen master might live. Love like the most loving person might live. Act like the most kind person might act. Think like the most philosophical person might think. Live your day today as though you are enlightened.

Apparently, I have been living an Enlightened Life for some time. It does feel good, most of the time. Specifically when people around me feel good as well. I do know some of my friends who also live an enlighted life as well.
