As we grow in the journey of this lifetime, we may begin to better understand the concept of “genuineness.” When we live a “genuine life” we bring ourselves without restrictions or “acting” to every part of our life. In particular, living a genuine life, begins with genuine relationships.
Think about a relationship that you may have had over the years, that was without the need to “pretend.” Maybe you and the other person could sink deeply into a discussion without the need to “clothe” yourself. Both of you entered the discussions with a balanced genuineness, alleviating any need for “pretending” or acting.
When you practice living a genuine life long enough, it becomes habit. That genuineness carries over into each part of your life, beginning with each relationship, including your work and your family life. As you drive to work, a genuine person has empathy and compassion for others that may appear to be doing you “wrong” with their actions. However, when you live a genuine life, you cannot see any of those so-called wrong doings because that is not a part of your perception anymore.
A life of genuineness means that you may shake up things a bit in your relationships, since you quit the “game playing.” Some people may want to continue to play the “games” of which you no longer care to participate. We are not saying that a person that lives a genuine life is any “better” than others. No, you must understand that everyone is perfect just they way they are.
A person that attempts to live a genuine life, understands that acting in life, is a way to cover up their own insecurities. A person living a genuine life, makes a decision to remove their mask for anyone who cares to see their inner self.
Look at yourself today as an observer, and try to understand where it is you are on this life’s path. Do not provide emotion about your behaviors or the behaviors of others during this analysis. At the end of this day, run through the mental “snap shots” you have taken during the day to decide if you are living a life that resonates with you.

Living a genuine life begins with a decision. A decision that you and only you can make. Think about what a “genuine life” means to you, and decide if you are ready for it!
