Making the Move

Posted - Sep• 28•15

“So are you going to make the move?”

“I don’t know yet.  I depends if things fall into place.”

“You know.  Sometimes things fall into place after you make the commitment to change.”

Many times we wait for everything to be “perfect” before we are willing to make a change.  Yes, it is good to be prudent.  However, you also must know that you will never be able to figure out everything in advance – even if you think you have everything figured out.  The universe may have other plans for you.  The best way to make a big change in your life is to take as many as the steps as you can prior to making the change, and then to make the “leap.”

Yes, “leaping into the unknown” can be challenging and scary.  However, if it is your journey, then you will be taken care of.  We are not saying to make rash and impulsive, life-changing decisions.  No, what we are saying is to follow your heart and your passion.  When you are acting from a place deep within you that is a “yearning,” or an “inner knowing,” you are listening to your inner-self.  When you are acting from the ego, you are following a path that may take you off course.

So, how do you know if it’s the ego or your inner-self speaking?  One way is to look at the content of the “message.”  Does the message sound like something that can span lifetimes and generations?  If so, that is your inner-self speaking.  Or, does the message seem short-sighted and somewhat limited in scope of effect?  If so, that may be your ego speaking to you.

For example, suppose you feel like you need to purchase a new car.  The car you have works perfectly well, but is getting old and high in miles.  Besides, the newer cars have new gizmos that you would like to enjoy.   That may be your ego speaking to you.  The purchase, may be a big one and may have a financial impact that could affect other aspects in your life.  In that case, it might be worth sitting in quiet and probing yourself with questions as to why you really want the new car.  Maybe you are starting to feel embarrassed driving it into the school or work parking lot?

Another example might be a question as to whether or not you should move your family to another city.  The ego might think that things will “be better,” but your inner-self might be wondering that as well.  Probe yourself with questions as to the “real” reasons why you feel a desire to move.  If you are moving “away” from something, you might not be listening to your inner-self.  However, if you are moving “towards” something, you are probably getting a message from you inner-self, if that “something” is rooted in the long-term.

So what happens if you follow your “ego” thinking it was guidance from your inner-self?  The answer is “nothing.”   Everything in your life is exactly what you need at this moment in your journey.   That means, no matter which direction you choose, you are on the path that is perfect for you at this life’s moment.

When there is a big decision in your life that needs to be made, sit quietly with yourself asking questions to probe as deep as you can for the reasons you are leaning one way or the other.  Ask your spirit guides for their assistance in making this decision and then move confidently without looking back!
