“As the conversation got more heated, I could feel the pain in my back get stronger, and start to throb.”

Our bodies reflect the mind. When we have a healthy “mind” we reflect that state in a healthy body. When we have emotional issues to deal with, we often manifest those issues with ailments in the physical body.
When we keep our “house” in order mentally, we can keep the physical “house” in order as well. It is difficult to keep a healthy body when our minds are filled with negative emotions, such as anger, bitterness and frustration. That is why it is so important to periodically check your emotional state throughout the day. When you find yourself in a “negative emotional state” you need to change your thoughts – immediately.
Yes, the ego may attempt to convince you that you are justified in your anger. However, the longer you stay in that emotional state, the more of that negative energy gets manifested within your physical self. By releasing the negative energy altogether, you are allowing it to pass unobstructed through and out of your body.
Think of energy flow, like a river. When there are no obstructions, the river flows freely. However, when a log is lodged across the river, the water begins to dam up and no longer flows freely. That “log” is created by negative emotions. The good news, however, is that you can free up those blockages with work releasing the emotions that created those blockages in the first place.

The mind is a powerful piece of your self. It is the connection between the non-physical and physical selves. It is the conduit of energy that flows through you. The question is, are you using your mind to “help” or “hurt” yourself?
