Look up and identify the place you would like to be.  Rather than continually looking over-your-shoulder to see what’s behind you, it is best to focus on what it is you would like in your life.

Often times, we get caught up on the past, and feel that we need to “work it out.”  Yes, in many cases, that is true.  However, try to determine if you’ve worked it out “enough” and move forward.  When we continually bring up past experiences that negatively affect our current moment, we are not looking to the future – a future of positive experiences.

When you look to the future, do you have a sense of excitement?  Do you know where it is you would like to be, or are you in “survival mode” trying to just get through the day?  Plant your beacons, and figure out what you think is your next step – no matter how small.  Then, spend this day working on that “next step.”  Tomorrow, you can figure out the next step at that point, which may be behind the one you defined for today, and proceed.  Eventually, you can climb the highest mountain with this approach.

Look at the thoughts that consume your attention.  Are they negative or positive in nature?  Do they excite you, or have a tendency to consume your energy?  If the results of your thoughts, is not one that you would like, it is time to change those thoughts.  Think of some happy event in your life to help you transition yourself.  Find a way to truly believe that you need to let go of any negativity in your life .  If you do not believe that you need to quit smoking, it is very difficult to do so.  The same is true here.

What we think about, we attract into our lives.  What we think about, spreads throughout our bodies either providing energy to our cells, or consuming the energy from those cells.  Think of your thought as the seed of your life.  Whatever you plant in your mind will sprout and grow.  Plant wisely!
