Moments

Posted - Nov• 04•16

Life is meant to be lived, one day at a time!  When we look forward or backwards, we are letting this moment pass us by.  “What is a moment,”  you might ask?   A moment depends on your perspective.  This lifetime can be a moment, or the breath that is currently in your lungs can be a moment until it’s released.  The key is to know that this moment is your gift to spend as you wish, while remembering that “this moment” will some day be your last.

When we worry about the future, or lament the past, we are sacrificing this moment for the unknown, or to relive a prior moment.  When we take our moments for granted, we will someday wish that we hadn’t squandered them.  This moment, that you currently hold in your hand is yours and yours alone.  The question is, what will you do with it?

Living in the physical world presents many challenges and struggles.  It’s so easy to get caught up in all of it, while forgetting to “breathe.”   The things that we once thought were so important, can suddenly become an afterthought when something much bigger enters our lives.  Nothing is good or bad, it just is.

Today is a great day to review how you are spending your moments.  Yes, we understand the commitments of each person’s lives can be great.  There is always a reason why you might not be spending your moments the way you had planned, but rather let “your moment” lie in wait.  However, someday you will reach your last moment and you will no longer be able to wait.  It is today that you have before you, not tomorrow, or the next day.  What are you going to do with this day?

Moments come and go, but can never come back again.  Fulfill your commitments that can be a distraction and then come back to this moment.  Living your life to the fullest begins right now!
