More is Not Better

Posted - Dec• 28•15

“More is not better.”

“I know.  I just seems that way at times.”

Give up the need to have “more.”  When we desire more and more things, people or events in our lives, we are sometimes failing to appreciate and love those things, people, and events that are already present in our lives.

Human nature, along with the help of societal marketing strategies, has  a tendency to desire “more.”  No matter how much we “have,” there is a tendency for “more.”  Recognize when you are starting down this path of thought, and watch yourself as a third-party.  Let the scene play out and observe your actions and behaviors.

We are not saying that there is anything wrong with the desire to attract the things, people and events that you would like, into your life.  What we are saying is to be aware of the desire for always wanting “more.”  When we continually desire “more” we are like a hamster running on a wheel.  We can spin the wheel faster and faster, using all of our energies, while ending up right where we started.

It is important, however, to understand that one should not judge others as they pursue the things, people and events that they would like in their life.   You are the only person that can decide these things for yourself.  No one else can or should make that judgment of others.

When we begin to understand that we have everything that we need at this moment in our lives, we can let go of the need for more.  We can trust that the universe will send the things, events, and people down our life’s path as we need them.  The key is to be open to these things and to actually see them when they appear.  Many times, we are closed off to exploration that is in our life’s journey and fail to see the gifts the universe provides.

Open up to the idea that we have exactly the things, people, and events that we need at this very moment of our lives.  Be open to seeing the “gifts” that we might otherwise pass by on our life’s path.
