Now is the Time

“Why are you going now?”

“Because if I wait it may never happen.”

Sometimes we have a tendency to put things off until some other time in the future, when we think things will be “better.”  Yes, there are things that we may have to wait to do.  For instance, if you have young children it may be difficult to take a trip around the world by yourself.

However, there are many other things that we “put off” for some magical time in the future when we feel things will be perfectly suited to do.  However, most people know deep down that now is the “perfect time” and waiting for a perfect future is only a way of delaying whatever it is you want to do.

There is nothing about the future that will be better than the moment you have now.  Yes, you might be more financially stable, or mature.   However, there are the unknowns about your physical well-being and other things that might be going on in your life.   We are not saying that the future will not be perfect.   No, we are saying that right now is perfect!

Is it the perfect time to quit your job and take a year to travel around the world?   Maybe not.   Things like that might affect other people in your life, and might need careful planning.  However, is now the perfect time to learn a new skill you’ve been wanting to learn?   Absolutely it is.

Let go of the notion that things “some day” are going to be better than they are now.  That “some day” is here, and everything is perfect for this moment in your life.  The question is whether or not you are going to embrace this moment, or squander it wishing things were different?
