Commit to Yourself

When we make a commitment, we stick with it.  That’s what a commitment means – that no matter the circumstances, you do everything in your power to see your end of the commitment through.

When we commit to someone else, it is sometimes more of a priority than commitments we might make to ourselves.  Do you ever make a commitment to yourself?  Maybe, you want to commit to a healthy body.  Or  maybe you want to finish your degree.  Other commitments to yourself might be on a smaller scale.  The question is do you honor those self commitments as much as a commitment to someone else?

As we grow older in this body and in the wisdom of the mind, we can see how important it is to take care of ourselves.  We realize that we are the only ones that can take care of ourselves.  No one else can do it for us.  Yes, there are caretakers that help those who are unable to feed, and clothe themselves.  That is not what we are speaking of in this case.  What we are talking about is the need to take care of your own self.  That is, being responsible for your own happiness. Being responsible for your own growth.  Being responsible for yourself.

When we realize that we are responsible for our own self, we quit looking to others for our happiness.  We quit looking to others for our self-esteem.  We quit looking to others for anything.  We realize that the answers and the energy to do the things we need, are inside of us.  We can love ourselves, because we know that we are in fact in love with ourselves.  We cannot love another until we first love ourselves.

So, today when you go about this wonderful day, look for areas where you may have made a commitment to yourself and not followed through.  Typically, we do not make a “promise” to ourselves, like we do to others.  Make yourself a promise for something that you are wanting to do for yourself.  Make a formal commitment with yourself and begin to take care of your own self!

Confidence is Contagious

Confidence is contagious.  When you pursue your dreams with confidence, you begin to believe in yourself and the in the outcome.

When we have confidence, we spread that confidence to those around us.  They begin to believe in whatever it is you are doing.  They see your confidence and assume that whatever it is you are doing is something that you’ve done before.  Confidence removes the doubt that may be lingering within you.

Often times we are fearful of the unknown future as we step into the world without a safety net.  When we make that step with the utmost confidence in our capabilities, we are able to stifle the fear and build upon our own confidence and trust.  When we step out into the world with wobbly legs, we are giving into the fear within us.  Whatever we give our attention to, is what we will get more of in our lives.

When we pursue a new adventure, or step into the unknown with confidence, we can put the fear behind us.  Yes, we may still feel uneasy, but whatever we put our energy to, is what we will experience.   When we “pretend” to be confident, we begin to believe it, and in turn to believe in ourselves.  At first it may be “pretending” but the energy is very real.

The energy of a confident person helps the person lead when others may have doubt.  The doubt soon becomes transformed into confidence as well, simply as it emanates from a confident leader.  You may not be “leading” anyone but yourself.  However, your confidence will emanate to build upon the strengths within yourself as well as those around you.

Today is a great day to look for areas where you are lacking confidence.  Just for a moment, assume that whatever you are fearing, you can overcome.  Have the confidence to proceed down whatever path you feel is necessary to arrive at the beacon for which you desire.  Have the confidence to pursue your dreams so that you can step out of the fear and into the energetic flow of the universe.  After the moment of confidence is up, check yourself and see the energy that you have created.  Now, keep that confidence while moving forward.

InspiraCard

Whenever fear sets into our minds, we can extinguish it with confidence.  Focus on your confidence and the steps necessary to pursue your dreams and one day you will realize that you have achieved those very dreams!

Back to the Basics

How do you react when faced with a challenge?  Every day, there can be different challenges that enter your world.  They may be as small as controlling yourself when an aggressive driver honks their horn, or how you deal with an irate customer.  When faced with a challenge, is when we can see how well we are doing on this life’s journey.

Challenges in life can create great opportunities.  When faced with a difficult time we can “get back to the basics.”  When things are going well, we sometimes forget what’s really important in our lives.  We can focus on the “small stuff” because there is no “big stuff” that needs our attention.  However, we sometimes drift off course from the priorities in our lives.

When we get back to the basics, we may need to relearn some fundamental things that we once took for granted.  For example, when recovering from a surgery or an injury, we may need to learn how to walk again.  We might need to relearn other once simple movements, such as how to eat, how to talk, and the like.  These “set backs” can be embraced as an opportunity to grow.

Other areas of your life might also be opportunities to get back to the basics.  Maybe you and your partner begin to date again, like when you first met.  Think about the excitement you once had that might have dwindled over the years.  In your career, you might need to think about going back to the basics with your sales strategies.

When we go back to the basics, we are creating an opportunity to perfect different aspects of our lives.  We are not looking at things as a “set back” but rather an opportunity for mastery.   Life is never perfected.  We are always practicing!

Today is a great day to identify different areas of your life where you need to get back to the basics.  Look are your relationships, your physical surroundings, the physical and mental aspects of your body, etc.  Find one or two areas where you will embrace the opportunity for becoming more perfected.

Every day is an opportunity for growth.  Even re-learning things that were once second nature is an opportunity.  Embrace those opportunities and let yourself become a master of this lifetime!

Growth Periods

If you want something in life, go get it!  We can wait and wonder about an uncertain future, or we can do the work that we think can be done now, to have a benefit at a later time.

When we get nervous about the future, figure out what it is you can be doing right now to help prepare for the things for which you are nervous.  If you are afraid of your roof leaking in the winter, maybe you should look at repairing it while the sun is shining.  If you are worried about a financial short-fall in the upcoming months, maybe you should work harder now.

Yes, we set our beacons, plan and implement our next step and disconnect from outcome, but that does not mean that we “give up.”  No, we need to do the work that we think may be necessary in order to be prepared for whatever comes our way.  Preparation is key for a smooth life.

When we feel like the stresses of the world are coming over us, it might be time to look for ways to release some of the things that might be causing the stress.  You might also look for ways to prepare for the things for which you fear, so that you have a plan that can be implemented if necessary.  Sitting around watching the television while worrying about the future is not the answer.  Either do something about it, or embrace the unknown.

Many times the things for which we have stress are not bad at all. Often times those things are exactly what we need at this moment in our lives.  Look for the perfection of the events taking place so that you might embrace them and let them flow through you – unobstructed.  It’s the fight and the resistance that can cause the stress in your life.   You cannot have stress without you permission.

Think about a stressful time in your life.  How did you do with it all?  Did everything turn out to be relatively okay?  Yes, it may have been a tough time with struggle in your life, but did it make you stronger?  Struggle is sometimes necessary for growth.  When everything is easy, it’s difficult to grow.  It’s when the tough times hit, when a person finds out who they really are.

InspiraCard

If you are going through a difficult time in your life, look for the perfection in all of it.  Remember that struggle creates growth, and you are simply going through a “growing period” to take you to the next level of sunshine!

The Eyes of Society

When you think for yourself, you are tapping into your inner-self, and letting go of the “world’s view.”  When you are able to think individually, you are able to look at the world for yourself, rather than through the “eyes of society.”  it is the individual thinker that makes the most positive impact on the planet.

Think about a time when you had an “aha moment” and thought of a solution to a problem that you had encountered.  Often times, the thought comes independent of the “good intentions” of those around you.   When you allow and appreciate the guidance of your spiritual-self, you open yourself up to independent thinking.

When you become independent and a self-thinker, you are not coming from a place of ego.  You have no worry, nor any care for the opinions of those around you.  You do not have a need to satisfy or refute any “images” that you feel others have formed about you.  You are allowed to be, and to embrace your true self.

Being independent can be a difficult thing.  It often goes away from the “image” that you have been portraying for this lifetime.  When we become independent, we allow our true selves to be expressed in the physical plane.  We are allowing ourselves to be ourselves!

Think about the areas of your life right now, where you are maintaining or attempting to refute an image that you think others have of you.  Or areas where you are attempting to create an image for yourself to satisfy your ego.  Now, look objectively at the amount of energy and angst that you exert over these images.  Imagine if you used that energy to be yourself.  What you might create is limitless!

When we take great care in the protection, creation and refuting of our image we are exerting precious energy in needless areas.  Rather, use that energy to be and to express your true self.  When you do that, you will find the world to look and be much different through your own eyes, than it looked when you were viewing it through the eyes of society.

Be yourself, and watch the people and the world around you change.  When we have the courage to embrace our true self, we encourage the same behavior from those around us!

Getting Past Conformity

Life is exciting.  It’s just that the timing isn’t always the way we would like it.

When we look inside for our beliefs and our values, we realize that we need to define these for ourselves.  We cannot continue to use the beliefs that were handing down to us.  Yes, it is good to have the support of our ancestors, but at some point we need to begin to think for ourselves.

Every person is a complete person.  A young child needs the guidance of others to keep them safe.  However, that child is a complete person.  As the child grows, the parents must begin to let go of the “protection mode” and let the child develop their own self.  When we develop our “self” we are honoring ourselves.  We are telling ourselves that “I matter.”

At some point in our lives, we need to be okay with being by ourselves.  We need to understand that we have all of the tools necessary to think and act for ourselves.  Yes, we may have some dependencies on others, but we must know that we can ultimately walk this life’s journey alone.  Everyone has the capacity to “go it alone,” even though we all may prefer a friend or partner.

Look at this day and begin to see yourself inside of you. What  beliefs are you carrying forward that were handed “down” to you?  Maybe it’s time to reevaluate those beliefs and start to build them back up – for yourself.  Look around to others to open your mind and your heart to something else.  It’s time to take back your essence.

InspiraCard

Let go of the notion of conformity.  Find yourself and the beliefs that go with you.  Pull yourself out of the bucket of beliefs that were passed to you, and find out for yourself who you really are!

Rekindling Inspiration

What inspires you?  Do you know anymore what inspires you?  When we are younger it seems that question is easier to answer, but as we age, it seems we begin to forget.

When we live an inspired life, we are able to easily overcome the events that would otherwise cause us angst.  Living an inspired life means we are living a life of vitality and optimism.  When we are inspired, we do not feel sick, or worried – no, we feel energetic and alive!

If you feel that you have lost some of your inspiration for living, look back to a time in your life when you were inspired.  Maybe you were in college and you had discussions with fellow students about how to make the world a better place.  Maybe you had inspiration when you entered your first job and you felt that you could contribute to the company’s mission.

If your inspiration for living is a little buried, maybe it’s time to bring it to the surface.  When we live with inspiration, we keep the focus on the things, events and people that we would like to attract into our lives.  When we live an inspired life, we encourage others through our actions, to live their own inspired life.

Think about what it is you would like in this lifetime.  If that is a difficult question for you to answer, it’s time to address it.  Everyone has something in this lifetime that they would still like to do – no matter how old you are!  When we quit living, we are no longer engaging.  Today is the day, to get back the inspiration that you once had.  If you currently have that inspiration, keep the energy around it and let it be infectious to those around you.

InspiraCard

Inspiration to create and do things in this lifetime begins with a thought.  The thought is the seed of the growth for wonderful things.  The question you must answer is “are your thoughts those that promote inspiration?”

Turn Worry Into Excitement

When you start to get nervous about an uncertain future – trust.  When you begin to feel a little anxious about an upcoming event – trust.  When you don’t know what to do – trust.

Trust that everything in your lifetime at this moment is exactly where it needs to be!  When we believe that we are being guided on this life’s journey, we can let go of the worry and the anxiety about the future.  When we plot our course, do whatever we think is necessary, and then let go of the outcome – we are living with trust.

Whatever you put out to the universe is returned to you.  When you trust in this lifetime, trust in yourself is returned to you.  That means that others have trust and confidence in you.  That means that you need not worry about the future, and can live in, and enjoy this moment.  That means worry is no longer a part of your life.

Think about things in the past that you may have associated with worry.  Maybe you were worried that you might not get a job.  Maybe you were worried about your financial situation.  Now, look at those events and decide if that “worry” emotion served any purpose.  Did you survive those moments?  Did the things that you were worried about come to fruition?

The interesting thing, as we have discussed many times, is that whatever we give energy to, is what we receive.  That means the things that we worry about, we are giving energy to.  Which means we are actually attracting the things that we are trying to avoid, into our lives!   If you need a reason to live this moment without worrying about the future, that should be it.

As you go about this day, catch yourself getting anxious and having worry about the future.  Then, simply stop yourself and change your thoughts to something that you would like to attract.  Change worry to excitement!  That means, rather than worrying about an uncertain future, think about something now or in the future that excites you!

InspiraCard

Remember that what you think about, and what you give energy to, is what you will attract into your life.  When we can keep our thoughts and our emotions positive, we create excitement and love which can carry us along this life’s path!

You Matter

Do you ever find yourself in a situation where someone is questioning you?  That is, he or she doesn’t believe what you are saying to be true, or they disagree with you, even though you know in your heart it’s your truth?

As we walk this life’s journey there will be many times when someone will not believe what we say or do.  There are many times when we have choices to make on how to handle such situations.  We can sit quietly and let the other person refute what we are saying and simply let the conversation pass by, while knowing what we know and not finding the need to convince anyone.

That technique certainly works in many situations to avoid unnecessary conflict, especially with someone who seems intent on stirring up conflict.  Another technique is to face the conflict and to stand your ground.  Again, there is a time for this as well.  Typically, in situations where the outcome has an effect on you or your family’s well-being.

So, how should one handle these sort of “disagreements” when the outcome matters somewhat, but not to the extent of affecting your well-being?  Should a person sit back and let another more vocal person “steam roller” them?

Well, of course, the answer depends.  Whatever you choose to do is the right decision so long as it does not come from a place of the ego.  How do you know if you are coming from the ego?  A good way to determine how you are reacting is by checking your emotional state.  Are you getting angry and irritated?  If so, that most likely is your ego.  Are you staying in a centered place of peace and calm?  If so, you are coming from your inner-truth.

It’s okay, and often times recommended to stand your ground when you are coming from a place of inner-truth.  It’s not about being “right” and proving the other “wrong.”  No, it’s more about standing up for yourself.  About taking back your energy and “power” that another might be trying to assert over you.  It’s about letting yourself know that “I matter.”

When we know that we matter in this world, we live a bit differently.  We begin to have confidence in our decisions and the choices that we make constantly throughout our days.  We begin to believe in ourselves.  We lift our heads a bit higher and we begin to admire ourselves.

When we let others dominate the conversation, or the “opinion of the day,” while dismissing us, and our opinions of the day, we are chipping away bit by bit at our own self-esteem.  It’s not about what the other person is doing or saying.  No, it’s about the messages we are sending to ourselves when we do not engage and take back our energy and our power.

Observe yourself as you go about this day.  Pay attention to times when you let yourself sit silently to avoid conflict.  Again, there are many times when that is the best approach.  Now, observe yourself where you are sitting quietly in order to avoid conflict with a more dominating person.  Maybe today is the day for which you find your voice!

Finding Excitement

When you are excited about something, it seems as though that is all you can think about.  The question is, have you found something to be excited about?

We all need something to look forward to in our lives.  It might be something as simple as an ice cream cone or your favorite coffee treat.  It also might be something bigger that you are doing with your life.  Possibly, going back to school, learning a new trade, starting a new relationship or job.  Life is about getting excited, it’s important to keep the excitement in your life.

Think about the last time you were excited about something.  Sink into the memories of that excitement and try to observe your behaviors and feelings.  Did you worry about anything during that time?  Were you getting out of bed easier in the mornings?  Were you happy?

We are here to tell you that you can have that sense of excitement again and again, now and into the future.  You are the one who holds the keys to your excitement.  Yes, the universe will help bring exciting things to you, so long as you open up and put yourself in a position for the universe to do so.

If you would like to find a relationship, you might need to do something to put yourself in a position to meet someone.  If you would like to be an artist, you might need to take a class or two.  Other things, though, can bring excitement to your life at any moment.

You are able to flip a switch in your thoughts that leave the thoughts that bring you down behind, and open up to the thoughts that engage and empower you.  Again, think back to a time when you were filled with excitement.  What were you thinking about?  What thoughts made you excited?  Now, think about what might help excite you now.

InspiraCard

When we fill our minds and our bodies with excitement, we are instantly energized.  The body fills with energy to match the energy of your thoughts.  Today is a great day to rekindle your excitement for life!
