Necessary Structure

When we bring structure into our lives, we are able to focus our energy.  When we focus our energy, we can accomplish great things!

Look around.  Do you feel like you have things in some sense of order?  Is your life in order?  Are you generally on-time for appointments and meet-ups with friends and family?  Do you feel like you have your “life in order?”

These are questions that most people cannot answer in the affirmative in all cases.  We are here to tell you, that it is okay to not have everything in “order.”  That is part of this life’s experience.  It is also important to know that we cannot control anything!  We cannot control our life’s journey.  However, we can set our intentions, and disconnect from outcome.

When we live in some sense of a structured environment, we can be much more efficient in the journey to our beacons.  When things are well-structured, everything seems to “flow.”   Things like eating, getting dressed and being on-time become simple.  When we have a sense of order around us, we can accomplish the regular somewhat mundane things with little energy.  That gives us the energy to devote to other things, such as our relationships and our work.  When things are not “in flow” with a non-structured environment, we expend so much energy to eat, get dressed, and be on-time, there is little energy remaining for relationships and our work.

Look around, and ask yourself if you feel like you have some sense of structure and order in your environment.  Do things seem somewhat easy to do?  Things like eating, getting dressed and getting out the door in the morning?   If so, you have built an environment in which you can easily function.  If not, we are here to tell you that you can easily build the structure to make your life easier.

What is the structure that we are speaking of?  You might ask.  It begins with your home.  Keeping the clutter to a minimum allows for you to have the space – both emotionally and physically to do the tasks that need to be done.  Finding a “home” for all of your things allows for you to easily find whatever it is you need with little thought and expenditure of energy.  Having a plan for your meals, what you might wear to work, and other daily tasks is also helpful.

The biggest key is to understand when you have a lack of structure in an area of your life, so that you might address it.  Find ways that work for you, and address the areas that are lacking in structure.  When you “see” the chaos around you, you can easily work on removing it.  It’s when we do not even realize there is “chaos” around us, that we cannot function.  The unseen chaos in our lives is usually the cause of your depleted energy.

Today is a great day to look for the “non-structure” in your life.  It might be so unstructured that you refer to it as “chaotic,” or it might be more subtle.  Just remember the leaky faucet consumes more water than what is used in the entire house!  Enough leaky “energy faucets” can consume your supply of energy for the day.  Find those areas, and build some structure to give you the energy to follow your passions!

InspiraCard

When we have a sense of order and structure in our environment, we are rewarded with being on-time for appointments, spending little time preparing the meals, and always feeling good about what we are wearing.  These are just of few of the ways that a bit of structure can impact your life.  But the most important reward is the extra energy available to you to accomplish your dreams!

The Perfect Moment

When a wrench gets thrown into our “plans,”  we remove the wrench and ask “what is so perfect about this?”

Yes, disappointment is part of the human experience.  Yes, disappointment comes at the worst of times.   However, when we understand and believe that everything is perfect, we can let go of the need to feel disappointed.

When we understand and accept that we are being guided through this life’s journey, we can accept and embrace anything that comes our way.  We can look at changes to our carefully crafted plan as an opportunity for a new experience.  Yes, the experience may not seem like it will have the excitement and the fun of the original plan, but it can be so much more – if we let it.

Life is full of surprises.  Sometimes, the surprises do not come in the form of a present wrapped in beautiful paper with a ribbon and a bow.  Sometimes, the surprise is not at all welcomed in our life’s plans.  However, when we know that these unexpected changes will occur, we can let go of the original plans and draft a new one.   You might even find that somehow you will grow from the experience.

The key to this lifetime, is to understand that this moment is all that you have.  You cannot go back and relive the experiences of the past, and the future is uncertain.  The only certainty in the physical world, is this very moment.  This moment is there for you to enjoy or to discard – the choice is yours.  This moment can be spent fretting over an uncertain future, or lamenting an already-lived past.  This moment is all that you have.  How are you going to live it?

InspiraCard

When disappointment and disruption enter our lives, we have a tendency to react.  Yes, reaction is often necessary.  However, when the dust settles and you find yourself sipping on a morning cup of coffee you can ask yourself, “why is this so perfect?”

Observing the Voice

We are not our thoughts.  That thinking part that makes the voice in your head, is not you!  You are the awareness of that thinking mind.  You are the person hearing the voice, but not the voice itself.

When we have thoughts that sometimes makes us feel like we are not a likable person – even by ourselves, we must realize that the source of those thoughts is not us at all.  We are the recipient of the thoughts, but not the source.  When we become aware of our thoughts we can observe them without hooking into them.

An awareness of who you really are begins with hearing the voice in your head.  When you can begin to understand that the voice is not you, you can begin to look for yourself.  When you hear the voice, you are beginning to awaken.  The voice is always there, the question is who is listening?   The Being that is listening, is your spiritual self.

When we meditate or spend some quiet time with ourselves, which could be while we are running, working, or relaxing, we give ourselves an opportunity to quiet the voice.  When the voice is quieted, we can begin to hear our inner-self.  That is you!

The voice that is constantly chattering in your mind, and creating thoughts that seem to be continuous, is part of the physical experience.  It is necessary to have the “voice” in order to become aware of it.  Do not try to silence the voice, but rather, accept it, listen to it, and let it pass through your body – unobstructed.  It’s through recognition and an awareness of the “voice” that you can become aware.

When we begin to understand who we really are, we can begin to understand the world and the universe at large.  We must first gain an understanding of ourselves before we can even think about understanding another person.  The interesting thing is the voice convinces us to think that we understand no only ourselves, but everyone around us!

InspiraCard

Take the time to sit quietly and listen to the voice that is chattering about in your mind.  Do not absorb the content of the chatter, but rather, observe it.  One day you will become aware of the observer who is the true you!

Thought Models

Thoughts that produce negative emotions can cause heartache.  When we build up a model of an imaginary reality with our thoughts, we can project anything onto anyone.  That means we can build a model that says someone does not like us.  Conversely, we can build a model that says that same person cares deeply about us.

The interesting thing about the mind and the involvement of the ego is that we can create any kind of model that becomes our belief system.  When we build a belief system, we alter our “reality” to support that belief system.

Isn’t it interesting how two people can witness the same event and have completely different recollections of it?  Have you ever watched a sporting event to see a controversial call being analyzed differently by the opposing fans?

Our belief system, based on a model of thoughts begins to dictate our reality, which contributes to more thoughts in our model, and thus strengthening the original beliefs.   You can believe the planet is flat and you will witness a reality to support it.  Similarly, you can believe that someone does not like you, and that is all that you will experience and witness.

Look at the “model of thoughts” that you have created in your mind.  Models that create positive emotions are beneficial to your state of happiness and joy.  It’s the models that create negative emotions, causing fear, bitterness and anger that you need to reframe.  There is no need to keep around “thought models” that cause unhappiness.

Since these models are all imaginary, you can easily reframe them.  Begin with a belief rather than letting the thoughts create a model that later becomes your belief.  For example, if you look at a person that you think does not like you, that might be okay.  Does it really matter if everyone walking the planet likes you?  Maybe you remind them of an ex-boyfriend or girlfriend that turns them off.  It has nothing to do with you and is out of your control as to what others think of you.

However, suppose you begin to wonder how a good friend or family member likes you.   Maybe you wonder about your mate and whether or not they love you anymore.  The key is to sit objectively, without the ego involved and ask yourself what you really believe.  That is, what your heart is telling you, not the model of thoughts that you have compiled over the years.  Do you really think that your partner cares about you?

When you answer those questions, you can then destroy any “thought models” that contradict your fundamental beliefs.  The thought models should not create a belief system.  The belief system needs to come first and the thought models should be irrelevant to your reality and to what you believe.

Today is a great day to look for models of thoughts that you have carefully constructed over this lifetime and decide if they are creating your beliefs.   Then open up to your heart to figure out what you really believe and destroy contradictory models of thought!

InspiraCard

What we experience, becomes a model for how we think things are in the world.  Those models eventually become our beliefs which impact or future experiences and reality of the world.  Rather, look to your heart for what you truly believe that is congruent with your inner-self and see your view of the world change with your heart-filled glasses!

Trust and Explore

What exactly does it mean to “trust?”  What is trust?  Who or what are we to trust?  Why is trust so important?   These are just a few of the questions that people often think about when they are told to “trust.”

First, let’s talk about what “trust” means.  That actually varies by person.  For you, “to trust” might mean to trust in yourself.  For others it might be to trust in the universe or God.   This statement, “to trust” is different for all people.  The first step, is for you to think about what it means to you.  Keep in mind, that it might change from moment-to-moment.

When we “trust” we are saying that we know that everything is perfect, and that no matter what choice we make, we will be exactly where we need to be on this life’s journey.  We also understand that when things are difficult, that too, is where we need to be.  We accept and embrace the changes that come our way because we have “trust” that we are experiencing exactly what we need at this time in our lives.

So, what is it we are trusting?  Yes, overall when we believe that everything is in perfect order, and that this life’s journey is perfect, we can let go of the need to attempt to control our lives.  We are trusting an unseen universal power.  We are trusting our spirit guides.   We are trusting our inner-self.  We are trusting ourselves as well.  When we have an inner knowing that we will be okay no matter where our life’s journey takes us, we have trust.  It is not so important to know “who” we are trusting, so much as just trusting in the first place!

When we trust in ourselves, we are saying that we know that we are capable of handing anything that comes our way.  We know that we will find a way on the possibly convoluted path.  We have confidence in ourselves to live in the face of any adversity.  We also know that all adversities that come our way, are perfect for this experience.  We know that exploration promotes growth, and we trust in our abilities to explore.  When we have trust in everything that we do, we are able to step forward confidently toward our beacons.

Trust is an interesting concept.  For many, it is trusting in others.  For some it is trusting in an unseen energy.  For  you it might be something different.  We all have different views of how we can “trust,”  but when we discover trust, we overcome fear!  No matter what you think about, if you can find a way to “trust,”  nothing will bring you down.

InspiraCard

Life is easiest when we can trust in the path that we are traversing.   Sure, the path may have its challenges, but we have an inner knowing that those challenges are also exactly what we need.  Trust gives us the confidence to explore, and exploration creates growth.  Trust in something today, that you have been afraid to explore!

Worry Steals This Moment

Why worry?  When we worry, we are substituting this moment for one that may or may not happen in the future.  We are giving up what we have now, for the prospect of something undesirable happening sometime in the future.  Worry is a moment crusher, and can prevent you from living a happy, fulfilled life.

So let’s think for a moment about the causes of “worry.”  What causes you to fret over the possibility of an undesirable event happening in the future?  Yes, its human nature to have fears of the unknown.  However, what is the cause of your worry – if you are experiencing worry?

Often times when we begin to look at where things are now, we have fears associated with losing those “things,”  which may include loved ones, material things, financial stability, etc.  However, if you really think about it, isn’t that just a way of stealing the time that you have left?   Eventually, everything will be “lost” when you leave this physical world to return home.  Accepting that, can help you understand that there is no need to worry about losing anything.

Life is full of change.  That is one of the few “constants.”  Yes, your life will change.  Yes, at some point in time, every being on this planet will no longer be living in the physical world.  Every one of us!  That is a constant.  There is nothing we can do about it, nor should we.  That is part of the rules of nature – all living things will eventually die.   That is not morbid, it just is!

When we realize that we have limited time to walk in this body, we can begin to appreciate that time.  We can love those around us – today and always, for we realize that at some point, one of us will no longer be of this world.  We all get a lifetime in this body, which for some is shorter than others.  However, it’s all in perfect order.  The question is what are you going to do with the time that you have remaining?

When we worry about the future, we are giving up the present potential for happiness and joy, and replacing it with fear.   When we live a life of fear we are so afraid of losing what we have, that we give that fear energy.   And, as we have talked about much in the past, where you put your energy, is what you will receive.   So, doesn’t it make sense to place your energy in areas of your life that you would like to grow?

Today is a great day to watch yourself, and catch yourself worrying about the future.  When you see yourself worrying, take in the fear and let it pass through you.  Tell yourself that you are living in this moment, and unless you are being chased by a tiger in the jungle, you do not need to live this moment in fear!

InspiraCard

Life is full of challenges, and one of the biggest challenges is to let go of the past and the future, but to live in the “moment of now.”  When you catch yourself worrying about an uncertain future, turn to the present to find gratitude in this moment.  A state of gratitude can overcome fear!

The Time is Now

We need to celebrate and appreciate every day that we awake on this planet.  When we receive the gift of another day of life, we need to appreciate and live it.  This lifetime is so short, yet there is a tendency to think that there will “always be time.”

So, what is your “there will always be time?”  You may not consciously believe that there will always be enough time to do the things that you want to do, but at some level your inaction indicates that you believe it.   When we do not act on something in our life, we are saying that the “something” is not important enough for acting upon, or we feel at some level there will be another time for acting.

When we assume that there will be “another time” for acting on our life’s desires, we are putting that desire off possibly indefinitely.  Look at the things that are important to you, yet you continually make excuses on why you cannot act upon them.  Yes, we know that in order to take a trip around the world you will need lots of time, and lots of money.  However, what about a trip to the swimming pool followed by a picnic in the park with your family?

Not everything can be done right now, and some things may never happen.  However, the question that you should be asking is, “what is important to me right now, that I am not seeing?”   Maybe you have young children running around the house.  In a decade or so, the house might be empty as they go off into the world.  Are there things that you are delaying because you feel like you have lots of time?

The same is true of relationships.  Are you spending all of your time at work building your career at the expense of a relationship that may last beyond your working years?  What are really your priorities?  The more we “wait” for another time, the more we may not be able to ever do.  Yes, work is important.  Yes, your career may be important to you.   However, there is something called “balance” that can allow for you to continue to have personal relationships and a successful career.

InspiraCard

Life is way to short to assume anything will be there in the future.  Set your sights on beacons in the short-term, while keeping an eye on those down the road.  But do not let a day pass by without taking advantage of it!

Gratitude Through Celebration

Take the time to celebrate your life’s events.  Each and every day should be celebrated.  Often times we put our head down and quickly make it through another day, but we need to look around, take pause, and celebrate our lives.

When we forget to celebrate the important people and events in our lives, we are “striving without arriving.”  We are taking for granted these things, and are not anchoring them in our lives.   We need to find gratitude through celebration.

When we celebrate events and people in our lives, we are expressing our gratitude.  Expressing gratitude through celebration is what it is all about.  It’s not about the celebration itself, it’s about stopping, taking pause and acknowledging a life event.  When we take the time for acknowledgement, we are showing our gratitude.

When a flower grows and opens up for all to see, we need to help that flower celebrate its beauty.  When a person achieves something for which they are proud, we need to celebrate with them – showing our appreciation for them in our lives.  Celebration is not about the party, per se, it’s about the act of gratitude.

Today is another great day to find things to celebrate.  The “celebration” can be as simple as an acknowledgement to the flower of its beauty.  Taking pause, and giving the flower a smile.  Celebration comes in many different forms.  Each hour today, find something to celebrate, and be sure to celebrate those important to you in this life’s journey.

InspiraCard

Gratitude through celebration, is the ultimate gift that one can bestow to the universe.  Take pause, and acknowledge and celebrate the goodness in your life.  The interesting thing is the more you celebrate, the more energy you put around the thing being celebrated, which brings more like things into your life!

Expect Greatness

Whatever if is you are doing – enjoy it!  Yes, it’s possible and expected that you enjoy your life – even when you feel you are doing something that you do not want to do!

The challenges of this life’s experience are numerous.  That is why you came into the human form for another lifetime – for the human experience!  Let go of the preconceived notion that something will not be fun and enjoyable.  Of course it will be exactly as you expect it.  That is why you need to flip your thoughts to always expect greatness and happiness.

When we change our expectations to something that we want, rather than something that we might be dreading, we have an opportunity for growth.  Imagine taking an event that is the most “dreadful” and making it fun and enjoyable.  What power you will have!

When we realize that everything that “happens to us” is not without our permission, we take back our “super power” to enjoy life.  We understand that our life experience starts in our minds.  What we expect, is what we will get.  Therefore, it makes the most sense to expect great things.  When we expect happiness and fun, that is what we will experience.   Conversely, when we expect conflict and anxiety, that too, is what we will experience.

As your spiritual self becomes more and more involved in this life’s experience, you will see that the physical world is simply a shell covering up the much larger spiritual world.  The spiritual world is where things happen, that are later played out in the physical world.  Find your inner-self and see the “bigger picture” that goes beyond not only this lifetime, but all lifetimes!

InspiraCard

What we expect is what we will get.  So, why then would we not expect greatness in every aspect of our lives?  Today is a great day to change your expectations so that you can experience a life of greatness!

Love Over Judge

The world is full of judgment.  The question is who are you judging and why?  The interesting thing, is that judgment brings everyone down!

When we judge another, it gives the temporary impression of lifting yourself up.  The “judge” is lifted above the person being judged.  However, since it is a vicious cycle, no one is lifted, but rather everyone is brought down.  That creates a cycle that spirals downward.

However, when we love another without judgment of any kind, we are lifting the other person above us.  When another loves us, we are lifted as well.  Love is lifting the world higher.  Maybe when we catch ourselves judging, we should convert the judging to love?  Love rather than judging, might be the theme for today.

This is present everywhere.  You might see your least favorite politician in the news, and begin to judge him or her.  However, if you find a reason to love them, you will be sending loving energy to them which will spread to those around them.  Wouldn’t you rather send love to those in some sense of political power rather than negative, judgmental thoughts?   Shouldn’t we attempt to lift everyone in the world to a higher state of loving emotion?

There is no place for judgment in the evolved person.  Yes, the human existence of your spiritual self will be tempted to judge another.  However, that is when your spiritual self can step in and convert that judgment to love.  Yes, there is always something you can love about another.   That is because everyone is some sort of reflection of yourself.   Which means that you must first love yourself before you are capable of loving another!

InspiraCard

Love over judgment.  That is the theme for this day.  Convert your judgmental thoughts to loving thoughts as soon as you catch yourself judging another.  When you do this, you will find the voice in your head start to quiet and the experience of life start to brighten!
