Rediscover Your Youth

Posted - Jun• 25•15

“Where did the person I once knew go?”

“Who would you be talking about?”

“Me.”

As we grow in age, we sometimes forget who we are.  The happy-go-lucky person that we once were is replaced with a responsible, sometimes rigid adult.  Somewhere in the process of life, with the responsibilities that we acquired, we somehow “forgot” who we once were and possibly who we are at our core.

Look back over your life, and ask yourself if the emotional changes you’ve made over the years were changes that you made consciously.  Ask yourself if you could wave a magic wand and be able to change anything in your non-physical self, what would it be?

Sometimes, as we grow in age, we leave behind the youth.  Yes, as the body ages, we cannot do the things we could once do in younger years.  That is a natural part of aging, and follows a law of nature.  However, we are talking about changes in attitude.  We are talking about changes in mindset.  We are talking about emotional growth.

Yes, when we were young, we may have had an “immature mind.”  However, some of the attitudes of our “younger self” that were wise and mindful, may have been lost.  Think about some of those mindful ways that you may have once had and now are covered with responsibility and maturity.  Can you get any of those mindful ways back?   Do you want them back?

As the body ages, the mind sometimes follows.  However, we sometimes, simply “forget” the youthful attitudes and energies.  Rediscover those mindful ways, and watch yourself become young again!
