“Why don’t the two of you go on a trip?”
“Oh, I don’t know. We’re so busy. We’ll travel when we have more time and money.”
“I think you should start travelling now. Why wait?”
Ω
When you find yourself continually “putting things off” for sometime in the future, especially, things that you would enjoy – you might use that as an indication that you are making assumptions about the future. The future is unknown, the past is in the past, and the now is all that you have. When we continually wait to do things for sometime in the future, we are effectively putting our lives on hold.
When our lives are on “hold” we are no longer living, but rather “waiting.” We are waiting for everything to be just “perfect.” We are waiting until we feel perfectly comfortable in taking the risks that might be necessary. Life, however, does not wait. Your life’s moments are shrinking. You do not know if there is a bucketful of moments ahead, or if you are living your very last one. No one really knows.
It’s the people who assume that they and their loved ones have a “bucketful of moments” that have a tendency to put their lives on “hold.” However, those that make no assumptions as to their future, have more of a tendency to live the moment. Life goes by rather quickly. If you want to climb the great mountain, you should do so when you have the strength to make that climb. Waiting for the time and money, may come at a time when your body is not physically able.
Similarly, waiting for anything can result in a lack of living. Yes, we need to be prudent when it is appropriate. Usually, though, people who are in a state of “wait” are overly prudent. Unless, they can accept the risks with a high probability of little impact on the “downside” they choose to wait until things look more promising. Unfortunately, for some, that day never comes.

You are on top of a cliff, and the water is waiting for you below. Everyone, has jumped, and landed with a joyful splash. Are you going to wait until the weather is absolutely perfect for you to take the leap as well? The time is now, and the weather is exactly the way it needs to be at this moment in your life. Think about what you may have been “putting off” and jump!
