“Okay, squeeze in a little tighter,” the man said as he watched a young family pose in front of the water fall.
“I got it, let me take another.”
The man snapped a couple of quick pictures and handed the camera back to the mother.
“Thank you,” she replied, as the man smiled and nodded, “I was happy to help.”
The family wanted to remember this special scene on their vacation. The children were nearing teens and the mother and father were proud and happy to have this opportunity to help make their children happy.

Memories, are created one moment at a time. Some memories are more obvious ones than others. For example, meeting a famous person, meeting your future spouse, the day your children are born, and the like. However, other memories are less ingrained in our minds for future reference, but are nonetheless ones that we might want to cherish.
When your mate brings home flowers for no reason at all, or when your child lights up at the dinner table when telling you about their day, are all things that are important. Sometimes, however, we are so caught up in our “own day” that we fail to even “see” these moments and thus we cannot stand a chance of remembering them.
Pay attention in your life. Engage with every conversation for which you are a part. Take the time to clear your own mind while you listen to another. Hear what they are saying, and read what they are not saying. Be present, and create lifelong memories.
Sometimes, people look back on periods of their lives and cannot remember certain things. That is only natural, but sometimes it would be nice to have better recall of some of these events. Are you present at work? Do you know what your co-workers look like? Does anyone have a mustache? What color are their eyes?
When we begin to pay attention to details, we begin to become more present. As an assignment, take the time today to see what color eyes everyone you talk with (in person) today has. Look at their facial features. Look into their eyes and really notice them. Start paying attention to the details that may have gone unnoticed.
When you begin to recognize and notice the details in your surroundings, you cannot help but become “more present.” Go ahead, and let yourself be immersed in your surroundings and you may see some of the beauty that has previously gone unnoticed.

Life is about the creation of relationships, and with that the memories that live beyond the physical world. Pay attention to the details that you have never taken the time to notice, and you will see how much more you can remember.
