The act of creating can open up the mind and the heart to the universe at large. When you create something, you bring a “gift” into the world that may have only existed within your mind and your heart. When you create a piece of music, artwork painted with your fingers, or a masterful meal for the family, you are allowing yourself to “speak” to the world.
Creation is a way of “speaking” without moving your lips. When you allow yourself to tap into the creation part of who you are, you are creating the openings that allow for yourself to make the connection with your inner self, your soul, spirit, or “source energy” if you will.
If you would like to tap into that energy source, the act of creation is a good starting point. We’ve talked about sitting quietly in meditation to create the stillness in your mind necessary for making that connection and that is still a very large part of the process. However, when you start to listen to your “gut” or your “heart” and begin to create something from virtually “nothing” you also open up those channels.
You might argue that you are not at all creative. You might say that you are left-brained. Who knows what excuse you might use as rationale for assuming that you are not creative. However, you are using creativity throughout your day in ways that you may not even realize.
You come home from work, look in the refrigerator and cupboards to mix a small set of ingredients into a nourishing, tasteful meal for the family – that is creativity. You go to work, and put together a presentation for a customer customized for their scenario so that your products and services are demonstrated in such a way the customer can understand – that is creativity. You go to school and write an essay on a test for a subject that you know little about – that is creativity.
Creativity is not just the sense of the artist that sells their wares in art galleries for large amounts of money. That is similar to the professional athlete. Lots of other people play sports, without being at the level of the professional. That does not make them any less of an athlete. Similarly, you are no less of an “artist” than someone with a branded name.
When you admit and accept your creativity, you will find openings that you did not think existed. If you enjoy cooking, teach yourself how to mix ingredients and different techniques related to cooking in order to allow the creativity to flow through you. It is difficult to be creative in an area, where your skill set cannot support that creativity. You may find that as you better your skills in an area, your creativity is enhanced for you will have fewer limits on what you can actually bring into the physical world.
We encourage everyone to find something in their life that might allow creativity to flow through you. It could be writing, building, thinking, or anything you can imagine. Take some time to enhance the skills around that area and let the “creative juices” flow through you to your creations.

It is never too late in life to learn something new. When you take on a new “challenge” presented to yourself, you find a beacon for which you may place to pursue. In order to enhance creativity it helps to enhance your skills in that area, so that you have fewer physical limits in the transferring of your “imaginary ideas” into concrete creations.

Really good!! LOve it – using this theme to take with us out in our sales today. Making a sale in our business is the creation of an alignment with another entity (another business) – the new creation of a working relationship. Thanks Pat.
