As you progress through this lifetime, you may begin to realize that each person has their own “reality.” With this comes the realization that what one person perceives as “bad” may not at all be perceived as “bad” by others.
Take for example, someone’s life. You might look at a person living on the street and think to yourself how bad of life that person must live. You might send that person “pity” and empathy. However, if you talk to and understand that other person, they may not feel that way at all. They may have happiness and joy. To them, they may be happy without the need for material possessions.
On the flip side, let’s look at a celebrity living in a mansion with what must appear to be an unlimited amount of money. A person looking from the “outside” assumes happiness in that mansion, but the reality of the celebrity may be very different indeed. Similarly, when we look at the lives of great spiritual teachers, we may be wondering how they can be so loving and joyful, while at the same time being persecuted.
To us, we see the persecution from others, however, the great teacher’s reality may not be that way at all. To them, they only see love and the true essence of everyone – including their persecutors. They know the deeper meaning behind those actions, and cannot even see what we view as “hatred” towards them.
When we begin to understand that what we have inside of us, is all that we can “see,” we realize that there is love everywhere – if we have love inside of us. Similarly, when someone is full of hatred, that is all they see as well. That is why it is important for you to make a conscious decision on what you really want to be “full of” and spread throughout the world.
Think of yourself as a cup full of love. As you carry it throughout your day, some of that love spills on those around you – passing love to them. The cup continually is refilled to the rim, and more and more spills out to everyone and everything as you walk down the street. You are spreading the love that you have inside to those around you – who in turn, may spread it to others as well.
However, there may be some people who have more hatred, than love inside of them. The love that you provide will help replace some of that hatred. A great teacher knows that not everyone is 100% full of love, which is why they are helping to spread their own love to the world. They do, however, see the love that is present within each living being.

Life is about spreading the love that we all have inside of us. When we all begin to “spill a little love” to those around us, we will find that the “cups” of everyone is overflowing with that love!
