“Why are you so stressed?”
“I don’t know. I guess I feel like I have more to do than time to do it.”
“What happens if you let go of the need to have to get everything done?”
“If I don’t get everything done, I’ll be in big trouble. These things have to be done.”

Stress is a self-induced emotion. Granted, yes, there are times that you have to get certain tasks done by a specified time. Take for example, when you are leaving on trip by plane. You need to be packed, at the airport and waiting at the gate before the plane departs. Otherwise, the plane will leave without you.
However, we might ask about the events in your life that cause the stress – in this case, the stress of “catching your plane” on-time. What were the things leading up to that moment of stress, that you could have done differently? Did you over commit? Do you think that you can do more than is physically possible? Do you have trouble saying “no” when someone asks a favor of you?
When the “stress storm” is roaring around you, at the moment, there may be little you can do but react. The key is to make sure that you never encounter any “stress storms” in the first place. When you have your life in order, stress becomes a choice. A choice to knowingly over commit. A choice to worry about the unknown future. A choice to have fear over the unknown.
Having a sense of order in your life begins with “trust.” Having a trust in your abilities to survive the unknown future. Having trust in yourself for traversing the unknown future. Having trust in the universe that you are right where you need to be at this moment in time.
Suppose you go to a well-known psychic and she tells you that the path you are on will lead to your dreams. Maybe you are looking for a mate, wealth, happiness, or health. She tells you that you are doing exactly all of the right things to lead you to where you want to be. Now suppose, we tell you that she’s right. You are exactly on the right path to lead you to your dreams. The key is to take advantage of the opportunities that you have. To live your life with passion and joy.
It’s when the distraction of emotions such as stress, anger and bitterness enter your mind that you fail to see those opportunities. We need to be in a place of peace, calm, and happiness for the universe and your inner-self to have an opportunity to guide you. When you are rushing down a river in a raft, traversing the rapids, you probably are not seeing the “signs” placed on the shore. Let yourself slow down so that you can feel the guidance of the universe and your inner-self.
