Stressful Eyes

Posted - Jun• 22•16

Many times throughout your day, take the opportunity to “relax.”  That means you take a few minutes to close your eyes, and clear your mind.  Relax the back of your legs.  Let your shoulders drop.  Sit tall, stacking your head, neck and back.  Let your eyes and face relax.  Release the tension that you may have stored in your body – and your mind.

Much like we drink water throughout the day to take care of our bodies, we need to release the stress that tends to build as well.  Stress, as most people know, can lead to many physical ailments.   Stress, not only affects your physical body, but it also impacts your life.

Think of stress, like a curtain on a stage.  When the performance begins, the curtain is lifted so the audience may enjoy the performing actors and actresses.  Stress, is like the curtain to the stage of your reality.  However, the curtain is never lifted.   It might be a bit “see through” but it is blocking your view of the world around you.

Stress, impacts your experiences and steals away your moments.  When we view the world through “stressful eyes” we tend to miss the real experience of life.

Suppose you have financial stress.  Nearly every person, no matter their financial situation can have financial stress.  As crazy as it seems, everyone can experience financial stress, or any other stress for that matter.  Now think about how you view the world when you feel you do not have “enough money.”   Whatever you are observing, you can bring back to a lack of money.  You look out the window and the neighbor drives away in a new shiny car.  You think about how you wish you could afford such a car.  The view of the world is always driven back to your stress, which in this case is a seemingly lack of money.

We have talked about having the “money when you need it,”  and not worrying about it otherwise in the past.  Today, though, we are using that as an example of how the world you view through stressful eyes impacts your view of reality.

So, in order to lift the “stress curtain” you need to maintain control of yourself throughout the day.  Give yourself, little “stress breaks” to relax and clear your mind.  Convince yourself that you can allow the stresses to flow through you – unimpeded.  Let yourself love the life that you came here to experience.  Understand that stress is not serving any purpose, and is stealing away that life!

Stress is a little thing that can have a big impact on your life.  The physical implications of stress are great, but it also can steal your life’s experiences.  Let yourself be free of stress by committing to a relaxing life.  When you let go of the stress you will be amazed at what you were missing behind the curtain!
