Sometimes, we need to “take charge” of our lives. That is, when you begin to feel like things are “happening to” you, it may be time to “live your life.”
Go out and get the things that you want in your life. When we continually blame others, the environment, and the government for our current situation, we are living without purpose. If you find yourself in a state of constant complaining and cynicism, it’s time to right the ship and turn things around.
Let go of the tendency to blame everyone else for things going on in your life and begin to take charge for yourself. No one else can live your life. No one else is responsible for your happiness. No one else can energize you. No one else can give you a healthy, fit, body. These are things that you and only you can do for yourself. Maybe today is the day to start fresh.
Go to the gym and look around. Is someone running on the treadmill for another person? Is someone lifting the weight for a friend? Certainly not! Yes, you will see people encouraging others with praise, and “get tough talk” when necessary. However, each person must do these exercises on their own. This is the same for your life.
No one else can be the mother or father of your children. No one else can do your job while you get paid. No one else can live your life, while you rest on the sidelines. Take control today. Set your beacons, plot your course, and sail your life’s ship to the places that you want to go. If the wind quits blowing, pull out your oars and paddle. Whatever you encounter there is always an adjustment that can be made. The key is finding the solutions rather than dwelling on the “problems.”
