Take Responsibility

Posted - Oct• 14•15

Learning how to forgive is part of the equation for removing obstacles in our life’s flow of energy.  The other part of the equation is taking responsibility.

When we look back over the years on the obstacles that are blocking our flow of energy, we might feel the pain that originated from others.  Often times, that pain came unintentionally from another.  That is part of the forgiving process – to have empathy and understanding for the other person.   Another part of the healing process, though, is to understand the role that you played in that dialog.

When we only look at the “wrongs” that others inflicted upon us, we are coming from a place of ego.  That is, the ego implies that if something went “wrong” it must have been caused by someone else.  However, we all know that is not true.  The “cause” of anything can only happen with your permission.  However, we are not talking about cases of violence, etc.

When you think about forgiveness, you must also go the other direction and look to areas where you may have been the perpetrator of intentional or unintentional pain to another.   Open up and be honest with yourself.  Now, you need to look to those situations and the people involved for making restitution, if that has not yet happened.

“Blockages” of your energy flow are largest when they originated with you being the perpetrator of pain towards another.   Look at those, and release them by making the necessary restitution towards that person.  Remember, they may have blockages as well as a result of those incidents that need releasing for themselves.   If you initiate the restitution process, you may be initiating a healing process for the other person.  Take that step today!

Forgiveness, usually uncovers incidents in life that you have been hanging onto.  During that process of “letting go” be sure to acknowledge and take responsibility for your own role in those situations.  After all, no one can harm you (emotionally) without your permission!
