When you think for yourself, you are tapping into your inner-self, and letting go of the “world’s view.” When you are able to think individually, you are able to look at the world for yourself, rather than through the “eyes of society.” it is the individual thinker that makes the most positive impact on the planet.
Think about a time when you had an “aha moment” and thought of a solution to a problem that you had encountered. Often times, the thought comes independent of the “good intentions” of those around you. When you allow and appreciate the guidance of your spiritual-self, you open yourself up to independent thinking.
When you become independent and a self-thinker, you are not coming from a place of ego. You have no worry, nor any care for the opinions of those around you. You do not have a need to satisfy or refute any “images” that you feel others have formed about you. You are allowed to be, and to embrace your true self.
Being independent can be a difficult thing. It often goes away from the “image” that you have been portraying for this lifetime. When we become independent, we allow our true selves to be expressed in the physical plane. We are allowing ourselves to be ourselves!
Think about the areas of your life right now, where you are maintaining or attempting to refute an image that you think others have of you. Or areas where you are attempting to create an image for yourself to satisfy your ego. Now, look objectively at the amount of energy and angst that you exert over these images. Imagine if you used that energy to be yourself. What you might create is limitless!
When we take great care in the protection, creation and refuting of our image we are exerting precious energy in needless areas. Rather, use that energy to be and to express your true self. When you do that, you will find the world to look and be much different through your own eyes, than it looked when you were viewing it through the eyes of society.

Be yourself, and watch the people and the world around you change. When we have the courage to embrace our true self, we encourage the same behavior from those around us!
