Silence is the key to life.  When we can sit quietly, reset our mind and connect to our inner-self we are opening ourselves up to the wisdoms of all times.  These ancient wisdoms are available to everyone, but few know about it.  Maybe today is the day you begin to open up to the silence buried deep within.

Close your eyes after reading this sentence and listen to the sounds around you.  Maybe you were reading this in a quiet forest where the wind was gently blowing through the trees.  Maybe you were reading this in the middle of an urban area where you could hear sirens, traffic, and city noises.  Maybe you are at work and the sounds of a busy office are around you.  The point is, we live in a world of “noise.”  That noise, either audible noise, or noise in your mind, can be never-ending.

It is up to you to take the time to quiet yourself.  It is up to you to listen when others are talking.  It is up to you to put down your gizmos when you are engaged in conversation.  It is up to you to quiet your racing mind and to “let go” of the negativity that appears to be bombarding you.

Today is the day to find that silent wisdom.  Today is the day to open up to the silence within and to get past the “chatter of the day” in your mind, in order to find the treasure.  There is so much more to this lifetime than the sporadic events that pull us in a hundred different directions.  Take control of the direction your life is headed  – beginning right now.

Today is a great day to plant some life-long beacons.  Today is a great day to plant short-term beacons.  Today is a great day to set a course in your life – and to take a step in the direction of your beacons.  The beacons will light the way, it is up to you to define them.
