“When I close my eyes I get a picture in my mind. When I see an image I know it is of the future. Then I just follow my heart to take me to that image.”
The boy’s mother replied, “how do you know the image is of the future?”
“Well, at first I didn’t know, but after a while I started to recognize things that I had seen in my mind from the past.”
The boy went to school as any 12-year-old boy does on a school day. However, this time he met a man along the way. The man had deep blue eyes, a grey well-trimmed beard, and wore a beanie hat with a short bill on what seemed to be a balding head.
He was sitting on a bench reading the newspaper when the boy approached him along the path. However, right when the boy reached him, a gust of wind blew the man’s paper out of his hands scattering it throughout the park. The boy quickly reacted, and ran down the pages blowing yards away in the wind.
After retrieving the last of the newspaper, the boy ran back to the man to give it to him. The man tipped his hat, and graciously thanked the boy. The boy was now going to be late, so he quickly ran off to school.
That afternoon, the boy was crossing through the park on his way home, when he saw the man still sitting on the bench in nearly the same position as he had seen him in the morning. Still reading the newspaper, the man looked nearly unchanged from hours before.
The boy approached the man, “are you still here reading the newspaper?”
“Why yes, I enjoy the outdoors and was hoping to see you again.”
Extending his hand, “I’m mister Munford. Robert, Munford.”
“I’m Bobby Santana.”
The two shook hands and sat on the bench.
“I know about your visions of the future.”
“Yes, I figured you did.”
“Do you know that I am actually from the past?”
“No, but I thought there was something magical about you.”
The two talked for a bit, and then Bobby realized the man was a distant relative of his that had reincarnated into Mr. Munford.
“So why are you here?”
“To teach you a great law of the universe.”
“What is that?”
“The great law that few people know and yet fewer believe is what I want to tell you. It is the Law of Experience.”
“What does that mean?”
“It means that what you experience only taints you for being open to anything and everyone. You already know about this law because you decided to come talk to me and didn’t run away when I told you that I was from the past. Even though you have no experience in what I told you, and your experiences are quite the opposite – that no one is from the past, you sat to listen to me.”
“Most often, people dismiss something that doesn’t match their experiences since they cannot identify with it. It’s like historically, science is only as good as the measuring devices available at the time. Take bacteria and germs. Few people believed they existed until the microscope was invented. The ones that did believe prior to the microscope had an inner knowing. Even though their experiences told them otherwise, they knew that microscopic things existed.”
“So how should I use this law of experience?”
“The law of experience states, that which you know about may only prevent you from knowing what it is you are to learn, and that which you believe may also prevent you from learning what it is you are to know.”
“That sounds confusing.”
“Well, it is a bit of a tongue twister. It simply means to never dismiss anything because of your beliefs. It also means to never accept something just because of your experiences. ”
“Think of a new-born baby. They come into this world with memories of their true home and possibly their past lives. However, for the most part they come into the physical world without a belief in anything. They also do not have any experiences to slant their views of the world. Everything is as though they are seeing and doing it for the first time. Be like a baby opening their eyes for the first time. When you do that, you will be living the law of experience.”
“Okay, I think I understand now. One more question.”
“Sure. Fire away.”
“Are you my future self?”
“Funny you should say that. I wondered if you would recognize me. I mean us. Yes, I am the person that you saw in one of your visions – which is actually yourself.”
“Will I ever see you again?”
“That is up to you as to whether or not you can live the law of experience. If you live that law, virtually anything and everything is possible! Don’t let anyone tell you, or do not ever believe otherwise.”
The boy turned to reply, when he realized the man was gone. He picked up his newspaper to realized it was dated March 23, 1932!

When we look at the world as though it is the first time, we can see things that have gone unnoticed, we can experience life as though it is the gift that it truly is!
