Someday, the children will become the parents. The parents, become grandparents. Someday, the young will become the elderly. Life is a continuous state of change.
When we hang on to the life that we have, or the life that we once had, we are living in the past. The past, although, it may have been wonderful – is the past. The future has not yet been determined. The present moment, is only a moment away from being in the past, and a moment away from the undetermined future.
When we think about our aging bodies, our undetermined future, or our moments of the past, we are placing ourselves in a state of “longing.” When we “long” for something in the past, or dread something in the future – such as our aging bodies, we are letting ourselves forget about the “now.”
When we live in the present, we are grateful for where we are in this moment. We need not worry about the undetermined future. We need not wish for a past that when we were living it, seemed to not be what we were looking for anyways. When we are never satisfied with this moment, we will find that our entire life may be lived as unfulfilled.
Let the current moment be the “golden moment” that you look forward to, long for, and live! When we look forward to “this moment” we will find that our energy level increases, our reality changes, and we begin to feel happiness and joy. This is the moment for which we came to this lifetime to live. This moment right now, is the one that you have in your hand to either squander, or to treasure. The choice is yours.

Let go of the need to relive the past. Let go of the need to bring back your youthful body. Let go of the need to wish for a future moment to quickly arrive. Let go of the need to hang onto a moment that must pass. Live this moment with gratitude. Live this moment as though it is your last and your first all at the same time. Live this moment as though it is the only moment of your life. When you can do that, you have discovered the secret of life!
