The Three Stars of Light

Posted - Dec• 16•14

“How do you get so many things done?

“Well, when I begin a task, I remember the three stars of light.”

“What are those?”

“Patience, Intention, and Confidence.  I work on having patience in everything that I do.  I set my intention before I take any and all action.  Finally, I proceed with the confidence that I will be successful.”

When we practice the “three stars of light” everywhere in our life, we will stay grounded and keep on task.  Having patience in your life is very important.  Without patience, we find ourselves reacting without intention.   When we wait to react and wait to speak until we set our intention for what it is we want to convey, we are practicing one of the “stars of light.”

It’s interesting to note how closely related patience is to intention.  Think about the last time you may have lost your ability for patience, but rather reacted.  When we take our time, and set our intention for our next action, we are practicing patience.  When we set our intention for the next phrase we are going to speak, we are practicing patience.  When we set our intention for what it is we would like to think about, we are practicing patience.

Now, let’s talk about confidence.  We are not talking about “confidence of the ego,” which can become more “cockiness” than confidence.  We are talking about having the confidence to take the action that you feel is the best action to take at this point in time.  When we trust that everything is perfect the way it is, we begin to understand that whatever action we choose, is the “correct one.”

Confidence involves an inner knowing that “I can and will do this.”  If you are participating in athletics, you need the confidence to “take the shot” or to “swing the bat.”   When we proceed in life with confidence to “take the risk,”  or to volunteer for the project, we are living with confidence.  When we understand that somehow, someway, we will figure things out, we are living in a state of confidence.  This state is practicing one of the “stars of light.”

Think about a task that you may have at work or at home.  Practice the ability to have patience, work with intention, and to have the confidence in your abilities.  When you begin to practice the “three stars of light” everywhere in your life, you will begin to experience the magic of life!
