Watch yourself today from “above” and be the observer of your actions and behaviors. Let yourself, “move” from inside to outside, and observe how you react throughout your day. Watch yourself, as though you are watching a sporting event, analyzing your day.
Are you doing the things that you should be doing? Are you moving in the direction of your beacons? Are you reacting to the situations that crop up with peace and calm? Are you enjoying your day? Do you feel happiness and joy?
You might ask, “how can I do this, it seems difficult?” Yes, it can be a bit of a challenge, but it is definitely possible. You can simply take a moment throughout the day, to assess and to observe where you are at the current moment. Take an inventory of your emotional state. Look around at where you are and what you are doing.
Take these “check stops” periodically, and observe and gather the information – without emotion. Again, you are observing your day objectively, without judgment. When you retire for the evening you can think about what you observed. If you took notes throughout the day, that is even better. You can read your notes and evaluate yourself.
After reviewing your day, objectively decide how it went. If you “slipped” emotionally, or had some behaviors that you would like to change, take note. Figure out how you could have reacted differently, or what you can do differently next time. Play out the “scenes” in your mind to see how they may have ended with the different approaches you are proposing.
When we consciously “observe” ourselves, we can gain valuable insights as to who we are, and how we might be perceived by others. We can gain valuable insights as to where we are spending our lives, to determine if we should make some changes.
Often times, when people begin to feel their own mortality, they do a “lifetime assessment.” They look back on their lives and find areas where they wished they would have pursued other things or had done things a little differently. This approach allows for you to make those “tweaks” in your life and yourself, while “there is still time!”

When we can objectively observe ourselves, we are exposed to a different level of knowledge. We begin to see ourselves without emotion, and can make rationale decisions about our life. See yourself in the “mirror of the universe” and watch yourself grow!
