The World Wants to Unite

Posted - Dec• 31•13

Why is it that on this one day in particular each year, there is a tendency to go out and celebrate?   It is as though a milestone has been reached by every person inhabiting Earth.  That milestone is based on a calendar that says “this is the last day of the year.”

Is the celebration happening because you made it through yet another year, and there is hope that the next year will be an opportunity to improve your life?  Are others celebrating because they had a great year and they want to honor it?   Maybe some, if not most people are celebrating just “because” it is a night when the world throws a party and they want to be a part of it.

None of these reasons is “wrong” and none is “right.”  The choice for why a person is celebrating this night is up to each person for themselves.  And for those, who prefer to stay home and toast either in their mind or literally with a beverage in hand is perfectly good as well.

It is an interesting night where the world celebrates something.  Maybe it’s life, love, happiness, joy, sadness, and the opportunity for a starting a new year with a clean slate.   Have you ever thought about how this is one night where the world “unites” independent of border, religion, nationality and beliefs?  We ask, why can we not unite every day?

Uniting in spirit while crossing boundaries and war zones, is happening at the non-physical level.  This form of uniting increases the energy level of the planet and helps to raise the level of consciousness of oneness.  Many people may not remember this night, but in some small way each person is looking beyond themselves to celebrate, sometimes with total strangers.  The world wants to unite, but we won’t let ourselves accept others for their beliefs and for their differences.

When we can learn to accept everyone and anyone for their inner core person, we can see the oneness of the world.  A world that goes beyond Earth into many different planes in both the physical and non-physical worlds.  The non-physical world understands oneness and appreciates and accepts others for their truth.   When you look at another person, possibly a stranger this evening, think about what is going through your mind.

Are you beginning to judge the other person based on the “shell” of their physical self and their appearance?  When you begin to talk with them, do you begin to get past the shell and see their truth?  Can you get past the shell and connect at the non-physical level of life?  Can you do that with people who you have “known” for many years?   Do you really “know” them or do you think that you know them?

Do you really “know” yourself?  If not, how can you really know anyone else?  When you begin to think that you “know” another person you begin to dismiss them.  We think that we totally understand a person and we can almost think for them.  However, that is diminishing that person and assumes that they are not growing.  Life is about change, and when life is constantly changing how can you even think that you know a living being, that is always changing?

The end of this calendar year may certainly be a reason to celebrate.  We might recommend that you figure out “why” you are celebrating so that you can celebrate with intention.  Just like every behavior that you perform, when you do it with intention you begin to understand.  You begin to understand why you are doing something in the first place, rather than just going along with the crowd.

We are not saying that you should not have any fun, but rather that you can have more fun when you celebrate with intention.   For example, suppose you would like to go out with some friends so that you can have a fun evening catching up on “old times.”  Well, if that is your intention then going to a loud, crowded facility may not be in line with that intention.

Life is fun, and has many reasons for celebration.  Living another day on this planet is reason enough to celebrate.   Have fun, let go, and be united in the world around you, for the world for which you are connected, extends for thousands of miles in all directions.
