The air was thin as the hikers approached the summit. They had been walking for several hours now, but the work was finally going to pay off, with the majestic view they expected to see from the summit.
“We’re almost there. Keep on going.”
“I know it, we are going to make it.”
The hikers continued for another hour before they reached their goal. As they sat on a rock and soaked in the 360 degree view, they sat in silence. This was not a time for words, but a time for solitude. The size of the world seemed so vast as they seemed so small.

When we are setting our sights on a goal, it is often time to think about the view from the “summit.” When we attain a goal, we need to take the time to savor that moment. The hikers realized how small they seemed in such a large world, and took the time to let those thoughts resonate with them. When we are in a situation where we need to experience our “surroundings,” it is sometimes best to do that alone.
Much like your life – there are times when you need to “go it alone.” We come into the world naked and without any fears. We have our mother and other family members there to greet us. It is much the same when we “leave” this lifetime – for there are people waiting to greet you when you return “home.”
Life is not about the accomplishments and accolades, but rather about the experience. Life is about the connections and relationships that are made along the way. Life is about the unexpected events that cause us to use our creativity and resourcefulness to “carry on.” Life is like climbing the great mountain. When we reach the summit, we sometimes do not return back to the valley.

Let go of the need to talk. Let go of the need to analyze. Let go of the need to think. Let yourself sit in silence and take it “all in.”
