“How was your day?”
“The same oh.”
“Really? Nothing exciting happened?”
“No, it was pretty much the same as every other day.”

Sometimes it feels like each day is just a repeat of the day before, which is a repeat of the day before it, which continues on back for what seems like weeks, months, and even years.
It can be difficult to get up each morning, get ready for work, school, or your day, and then be engaged throughout the day. The excitement level has diminished in your daily routine, and sometimes in your relationships. It seems that the “rough patches” exceed the “fun times” and you wonder why it is you do all of this?
As you lie in bed on a Tue morning, you wonder why it is you are caught in what seems to be a mundane routine. “Why do I bother?” you might ask yourself, “I’m just tired of life.
Well, those feelings are natural and are questions that you should in fact ask yourself once in a while. The question that we would like to ask you, is “Where are your beacons? Do you have any beacons? Do you know what they are, or did you define them months ago and have forgotten about them?”
It is important to have some daily beacons, as well as longer term beacons. When we lose track of “why we are doing all of this” it is easy to fall into the “I’m tired of life” trap. Now, we are not talking about someone who is suicidal and needs to seek professional help. No, we are talking about people who feel like they are caught up in the “routine of life.”
When it appears that you do the same things over and over each and every day, the monotony can get tiring. When you begin to feel that way, it is time for you to redefine your beacons, or to re-inventory the beacons that you have already defined. The beacons are the light shining in the dark of night that serve as a guide for you to navigate your journey in life. Without a beacon, much like a ship lost in a storm at sea, you will drift aimlessly about.
When you feel you are growing “tired of life” it is time for you to pick up your head, identify your beacons in the distance, and plan the next step in the general direction of said beacons. Let go of the “whoa-be-me” attitude and energize and revitalize yourself by becoming engaged in those “same-o” days of your life!
